the memchunkhax2 hype post with .3dsx

there is more going on in the comments that this post is somewhat outdated now.
read this. it's important.
  • you cannot use this for downgrading, installing .CIAs, etc. yet. it is purely for testing.
  • when you post results, include your model, entry point, and full firmware version (e.g. 10.3.0-28E).
  • this has pretty much no risk of bricking as it doesn't write to the NAND or anything. with that in mind I am not responsible if anything weird happens so run this at your own risk.
  • if you get a test value of DEADCAFE then it has worked.
  • this might help with getting "DEADCAFE":

I think a lot of these entrypoints rely on the web browser. Can you try some of the ROP ones like rxtools nightly and see if MSET is downgraded to 9.x?

@CrispyYoshi i have an EUR N3DS, and the cias are correct... I use FTP first because if I don't, SysUpdate didn't boot :S

So... I don't know what i'm doing wrong...

Tried launching PastaCFW through OoT3DHax and nothing, it just gives a black screen :/ Testing the new version of FBI on a hunch, it wouldn't work on "vanilla" 9.2 right?

Edit: Eh, ignore that, doesn't work anyway

@ihaveamac, I was thinking the same thing too when it wasn't updating, that systemwise its 9.2 but some things are still 10.3 . Also I think this blog is about to explode, My text is lagging hardcore.

@Sukiyami Probably not. It might not even give you permission to install because you're not in CFW yet.

At this point, to anyone who hasn't downgraded, I'd say don't try it. There is something wrong that seems to prevent CFWs from being installed.

I have a guess as to what's wrong. It sounds like all the titles have been updated, but not the FIRM0 or FIRM1 partitions, meaning that the NATIVE_FIRM is still 10.3.0.

A way to check is to run Smash Brothers 4 on an Old 3DS to trigger a FIRM launch to go into 96 MB mode. This would invoke the FIRM installed as a title. After running Smash 4, quit it and run Cubic Ninja or whatever. I think that it'll work, but I can't be certain without trying it.

The way to fix it is to call am:u!InstallFIRM if this is the case.

@CrispyYoshi It's no use for N3ds is it can't stay lower than 9.0 and there's no cart update to 9.2 except Eur Cooking mamma bon appetit.

Not in America, but honestly any clean firmware under 9.2 past 4.x is good enough, I think.

From there, we can just do <9.2 methods, because we've already downgraded (If this works)
