Firstly... UK Legal System
Just WHAT is it coming to....
There I was watching a show about UK police, since there's not much to watch on Sunday Evenings, & there was this piece about 'Distraction Robbery'
(in case you don't know - it's where some crook sprays something onto a victim & while 'pretending' to help & distracting him/her - another crook steals the stuff)
Anyway, in the article - A car was stopped in a 'hotspot' for such crimes & the people inside were questioned
The show gave a 'followup' at the end. The result was....
'The history of the car was checked out and found to of been used in the past for distraction crimes..... the occupants were released without charge'
Hang on !!!!!
We've got a car that's been used in a crime, the occupants in the car didn't know each others names despite being 'friends' - and they were NOT the owner of it, items were found that are used in such crimes.... so HOW THE HELL WERE THEY NOT CHARGED ????????
Even if they stole the car & didn't know of the items in it (just unlucky stealing a thiefs car) - they should've STILL got charged for stealing
Just WHAT is the legal system coming to ??????

OK - Second Rant.....
I live with my Mum (main reason I use is 'it's cheaper than a Mortgage'), & we've been online shopping for Xmas gifts
One set of gifts is for my Brother, but unfortunately said items are not avalible until the New Year - so we've brought a voucher in an envelope for him to use when they're released
My Mum asked me to 'do a card with the dates the items are being released on, which we'll put into the envelope so that he'll know what's it for' (remember this for later)
So I make up a card on the PC with pictures of the items & the release dates for them - using up a full sheet of A4 card just for a 11x15cm section which fits inside the envelope
She picks it up & said... 'I see you've done it on photographic card',
which I reply 'It's the only card I have avaliable at short notice'
Her reply ?? - 'Oh - it didn't HAVE to be on a card'
In turn I said 'Then why didn't you just write out the details on a sheet of paper then & put that in instead ??'
She just had to get the last word in so she said 'Oh you DO make a fuss about nothing.....'
Nothing.... NOTHING..... Whoa there !!!!
I had to start up the Computer (that uses electricity that I pay half towards), 'Design' & Print out on expensive (well it's more expensive than normal paper) photographic card, a small section (about 1/4 of a page - wasting the rest of it) using my Inkjet printer (that also uses electricity) to print out the 'release dates' for my Brother Xmas present, which SHE originally asked for & yet she has the cheek to say that I was making a fuss over nothing.....
- all of this could've been done using a Sheet of paper and a Biro (in fact just the Biro - she could've wrote inside on the card the voucher came in)
Parents - What can we do with them ???

- One bloke questioned said he was 'Getting a lift from my friend', & when asked friends name he replied 'I don't know' (He's getting a lift from a friend who he doesn't know his name ???)
The car was searched and items within it, usually associated with 'distraction crimes', were found (Shampoo bottle by front seat with contents that wasn't shampoo, hollow spikes usually used to create 'flat tyres' were some of the items found)
The car ownership was checked out & NEITHER of the people inside it were the owner of the car (the owner also couldn't be contacted)
