Valkyria Chronicles

I bought the game in December but put it on hold because of Uni. I started the game again recently and I've beaten the game today. Really, really, really good game. Welkin is an excellent protagonist and the story was actually good. The ending was wonderful, it gave closure and made me feel rather warm inside,

Top, top game. IF you've played it, well done. If you haven't, play this game. It is the shit.

I watched the first two episodes and I just couldn't watch beyond those episodes. Welkin was brilliant in the game, he was an idiot who was heroic but the anime portrayed him as an idiot who was useless. Plus they made Alicia into what seemed to be a Tsundere.

Lol that's my exact same impression of Welkin in the anime.
They basically took everything that made up Welkin in the game, and made Faldio into it.

The anime was good, and it did a few things better...but the game is infinitely better overall in practically every way. It's also easily one of my favorite games of all time.

Yeah, agree. It's also a beautiful game, sans a few weird animations here and there. Wouldn't say I love Welky as much as you do, though I do appreciate that the game overall isn't too over the top with the teen angst in comparison to many other JRPG/strategy games. But it's the game that inspired me to want a PS3.
