ITotalJustice's Nintendo Switch sigpatches GitHub has been removed due to DMCA takedown

gsdfgfsd.png

When you need to play illegitimate backups on a hacked Nintendo Switch, one of the most important tools you'll need are sigpatches; normally, custom firmware Atmosphere does not allow the running of pirated games, but these sigpatches allow users to install .NSP files that they've downloaded from the internet. As of today, though, one of the most notable and popular sources of sigpatches--user iTotalJustice's GitHub repository of them--has been removed permanently, through a DMCA takedown. The GitHub was still active as of earlier today, but if you try to access it now, you'll be redirected to a DMCA takedown form, filed by Nintendo of America.

Nintendo of America: The Nintendo Switch console and digital video games contain technological protection measures (“Technological Measures”) that permit the Nintendo Switch console to interact only with legitimate Nintendo digital video game files. This process protects Nintendo’s copyright-protected video games, including but not limited to those covered by U.S. Copyright Registration numbers PA0002213509 (Super Mario Maker 2); PA0002233840 (Animal Crossing: New Horizons); PA0002213908 (Luigi’s Mansion 3); and PA0002028142 (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild) by preventing users from playing pirated copies of Nintendo’s video games on the Nintendo Switch console.

ummm... I just got home Friday from being out to sea. Just now updated my switch, saw the dmca, searched "sigpatches" here, put an .nro file on my switch, and generated my sigpatches myself using the .nro file. Dunno what the fuss is all about...

The thread has already been linked in this thread. You just have to actually read the thread. The NRO is not on the first page... perhaps start from the end and move backwards...

Windows tool: https://gbatemp.net/threads/info-on-sha-256-hashes-on-fs-patches.581550/post-9917817

NRO: https://gbatemp.net/threads/info-on-sha-256-hashes-on-fs-patches.581550/post-9913800

Not sure if the NRO keeps getting updated on the same old post or not, but I Can confirm it worked for me on the latest firmware, and with a self-compiled hekate and Atmosphere...

This is a rather resilient community and projects have a history of being moved elsewhere when pressured by the Big N. There are still options like Gitlab and other sites to host the code on. There are also plenty of devs who don't want to see projects like these for their own reasons. This is just a setback but it definitely doesn't mean that there's no chance for the project to be revived in some form.
If I've learned anything about the homebrew community over the years it's that there's always new stuff to take up the slack. It's just a matter of time, usually.

Still it would help if emulators can run without copyrighted firmware. Although we will eventually get there.

LOL! I'd lmao if they put a gay ride in the little arcade section they have in this walmart. It could be like the horses rides you put quarters in, except it would be like the ambiguously gay duo cartoon & you sit on top of the other guy thats in a "flying" position. LMAO!

There is zero instacart delivery to here. No door dash. No Uber. Notta. Its a small farming community

So I drive the 30 miles there, spend $100-$150 on groceries, and drive back home. Still saved $$$ after gas over shopping locally.

It makes the trip even more worth it if I'm out of my medication and need to stop by the medical dispensary. I try to line the two up to avoid extra trips.

They passed a city ordinance last month. No smoking cannabis in public. Not even eating gummies. $300 fine and misdemeanor charge if caught. People can walk down the street smoking cigs and tossing the butts all over, but God forbit someone take a couple puffs of their medication.

First off, it's recreationally legal here. Secondly, I have a prescription from my doctor and approved by the state. But still a fucking criminal.

Like at bars. Cant sit outside even in the smoking section and take a few puffs. Yet I have to breath the cig smoke from 20 people chain smoking all night in every direction around me.

A Trump win is certainly a possibility. If he's reelected, 4 more years then no one has to worry about him being president ever again. I survived last time, I'll survive it if there's a next time. Don't know how anyone could vote for the guy, but I'm also not anyone else but me.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Honestly things were cheaper with Trump but that's tounge and cheek could be exactly the same outcome if he won reelection
