Curious if you ever got the rom folders to merge?

Thanks

I don't know if you should expect an answer from cose to 10 years ago from that user, but there's a way to do it, I found how for WiiSX's several forks and can fortunately be replicated here.

Get a Hex Editor, open both versions of Wii64 (Glide and Rice) and do a text search for the word roms.

The second and third results should be directory paths:

usb:/wii64/roms
sd:/wii64/roms

Just change "wii" to "not" (so it becomes "usb:/not64/roms" for example), save and you're done, Wii64 Glide and Wii64 Rice, the current versions of Wii64, will look in the same folder as Not64.

Not64 seems to be compiled differently, and you cannot find the paths in this simple way, if they were easily edited you could use any folder you'd like to, but this already acomplishes what you wanted.

Unrelated to Not64 but @emu_kidid is at it again with the development of Wii64 :)

Will make a new build tomorrow and publish it elsewhere in GBAtemp.

Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't work right. Games work way too fast, sound is sped up tremendously, if not garbled.

I guess the current state of Wii64 is "work in progress" for the next release. Unless again, I did something wrong.
try deleting your old settings.cfg file :v

That did it, thank you.

I saw Pilotwings being worked on and decided to try it. It performs well on Glide and the shadow glitch is no longer there, and neither the rocket belt glitchy map which are awesome.

But there's something that I have never seen before, whenever you finish a mission and try to quit, a strange green grid with white and black dots appears, and you lose control, even when trying to go to Wii64 menu (reset button work fortunately).

I made a screenshot of it, I will attach it if it helps.

pilotwings is broken yeah, emukid did an hack for it but the hack crashes any mission at the end so yeah ... your best bet to play pilotwings is rice pluggin, if you tilt your character just right the random polygon mess will go away i finished the entire game on rice.

Have they added zip support yet?
1. No and
2. @emu_kidid already said that he won't bring again zip support because of RAM memory reasons, i guess because of the zip library taking so much RAM memory and leaving poor RAM memory for games and emulation.

But... i noticed that ZIP support was just disabled, cause the code for said support is... still there i guess?

Oh, so the Pilotwings thing is not new? It's the first time I find it and I tend to test updates with that game just in case it got fixed. Besides that issue the game never ran better, both talking about glitches and performance (and if you were to try and play it, you can reset after every mission, it seems to save your score before you go to the Quit screen).

And yet, not64 functions just fine with it.

Oh, I was looking around for the bug, which is a known thing in other emulators, and also found a conversation from 2022 about this particular thing in Wii64, so yeah, it has been there a while and I just found about it, lol.

Meh, I think I rather reset the game after missions and have good performance than play in Rice with how it runs... Regardless, I am thankful for emu_kidid's efforts always.

Extrems" said:
- Always assume there's a first controller.
- Fixed copying name from ROM header.
- Adjusted for libogc-rice changes.
- Synchronized changes from Swiss.
Nothing related to emulator engine, so compatibility is same as previous version. I've tested some games and haven't noticed any diffrence.

I see they have fixed the third-party controller peripheral issues on the latest version of Wii64 and Not64, including the PDP Fight Pad for Wii. Glad to see you back updating the N64 emulator, guys!:) As a matter of fact, I might play N64 Super Smash Bros..

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
