That would be a hell of a port if it ran well, but it would take a while even if a hacker would be interested in porting it into another fairly low power device.

Well technically we can emulate the PS1 on the Nintendo DS already using a Supercard DStwo, even though it doesn't run that nicely.

So the only part that interested me is that he seemed to inject Pokemon Silver into a channel and put it on his 3DS.... I want Pokemon Silver on my 3DS I'd play it more than anything else. But I am very happy to see the progress being made with homebrew

I'm probably going to start looking for an appropriate 3DS now. I'm rather excited for this, and I have an AK2i so I can run the installer without needing a GW to run anything.

Then make sure to buy a 3DS on FW 4.3 or below as AK2i doesn't support FW above 4.3

Don't know about US 3DSes but here in Europe the Red/Black XL's can come with 4.3.0 firmware. I recently picked one up myself.

The only problem I see with HB on the 3DS, is that as everyone involved is using already exploited 4.5 units, nobody at all is working on a current firmware exploit, so no HB for the masses.

That might change if some decent homebrew is made. I wouldn't be surprised if some hackers are sitting on a working exploit right now.

Yeah... Smealum should put some kind of protection in his work. Perhaps some kind of bricking code. That's worked well in the past, right?

Don't think there is a 4.3.0 3DS XL.

I got a blue/black 3DS XL that came with 4.3.0U. It was from a pawn shop, so it may have been updated at some point though.

This is the main reason why I'd want a ROM launcher, even though my 3DS is fully updated. If people on 4.5 firmware are going to pirate, at least let them do it without giving money to dirty companies profitting on piracy.

That´s what I think too.
This flashcart fiasco really evidence that pirates gonna pirate anyway.
At some point I don´t buy some hackers speech of "I wont release this because of pirating, blablabla" because then they go and secretly send the exploits and codes to underground money thirsty scumm or make their own dirty bussines.
I´m not talking about Smealum, who is cool by the way.
