I'm looking forward to progress on this. I own a Gateway card, however I have 2 3DS consoles and my wife has an XL. I'd like to have multiple options is all I'm saying.

Keep us up to date I guess, and good luck!

Don't be insulted or anything but I tend to not believe people when I don't see some of their past work.
Can you share with us something you already did before?

I should be able to replace gateway's code with my own, which will be...I'm not sure yet.

It would be super if you could modify it so we could enter emunand through the gateway-launcher without the card itself.
how did you read the launcher.dat file?

Also good luck, I believe in you!

I think everyone on gbatemp should really think about what there saying on these forums, by acting like a, know it all snot, all your really doing is keeping the scene down. I mean really, grow up. It's always easier to not say something then to say something cruel to someone you don't even know. I know you probably feel powerless in real life and picking on some little kid might help you get through the day, but is this really how you want to represent yourself?
I program for a living, it's what I do, and it's the the lack of basic human respect that keeps people like me away.
How can you ever expect progress if you tell kids that there idiots for trying.
So do us all a favor, think about the words you use and how they represent you. Are you really that shitty person that enjoys being cruel to a bunch of little kids. And you all know who you are...

Unfortunately, new members who lack the understanding of troubleshooting processes, getting new features fully implemented, tend to be the ones who complain the most.

Wow, a lot of flak for the guy. Let a few weeks page like he said he'd do it and then come bash him if there's no results and no explanation. I want to believe in him so I'll just keep the thread in my sights for a while, see how it develops.

Best of luck.

My philosophy is if it ain't hurting anybody, don't bash it. regardless of this guy's skill, if he even attempts to pull this off, he's putting more effort than me (I've tried to learn some basic coding stuff before. it's way too boring. I just can't get into it), and I will give my support.

So go for it! You can do it! I believe in you! Crank the dial to 11, and rock on, dude. I hope you succeed. Fuck the haters.

The thing is from what I've seen in the past is if one project gets taken up by someone others tend to move onto something else. So if someone says I am working on X, people will move onto Y. But if the original person drops project X or it doesn't work out well the community could be left without whatever X was unless they release their work and others want to continue it.

It is also dangerous to run someone's code that you do not trust. Someone has to test this eventually on their 3DS.

I'm glad someone is working on this as I have no means to do so, but people can be wary if they want. There's no harm in vetting everything you can.

Keep up the work, hopefully you prove people wrong.

by that logic nothing would ever get done, but we've seen more development in the last 2 months than the last 2 years imo.

Nah, I'm not insulted. I wouldn't believe someone, either, if they didn't have any previous work to show for it.

I have been programming since I was in...I dunno, 7th grade? I started off with javascript and later moved on to Java. After about half a year of learning Java, I took a break from programming until about two years ago, when I started learning C++ and picked up Java again. I studied that off and on for a little while and then switched to C# a year ago.

As for the programs I've made, I made an android benchmarking program using Java, but I have no idea where it is. My first application (and the one I'm most proud of) is a PC game. It is meant as a project for myself to learn C#. The version I have (that has not been released) is much more complicated than the one that I have ready for public view. I can post the current beta if you'd like, but it's not nearly as impressive as the build I'm working on right now.

All other stuff is just testing random functions, some programs putting them together to make useless applications. It's practice for when I actually make an application (such as this one).

i really didn't want to get involved in another one of these threads....but basically
guy says "wow this sounds like a great idea, i make a CFW woot"
bunch of people who dont know what that entails say "wow yeah your the man free CFW for me....just do it"
other guy comes along and says "are you sure you know what this entails, and that it comes with lots of risks to your console"
the bunch of people who still don't know what they are talking about start throwing a hissy fit because someone merely warned the first person to only do it if they know what they are doing thus jeopardizing their wonderful free CFW....on it goes with "screw these people warning you that you might brick your shit....do it anyways....i don't care, its not like its my stuff anyway, they must be haters"

there is nothing wrong with someone saying "only do it if your sure you can do it safely"....but there is something wrong with people saying ...."screw that, do it regardless because i want cfw"

nobody is out to ruin cfw or stop it happening, just a few concerned people wanted to make sure nobody A) wastes their time on pointless stuff, B) bricks their console....i doubt any of the "lovers" would be helping you fix it if anything did happen

I own a Gateway card and I support this fully, pretty sure he's taken the project to sharpen his skills and possibly contribute something to the community, if it works out everyone wins, if not - at least he tried, a nice practice.

guys, we will see if he release something sooner or later. And if he does we dont have test it on our console, there are more then enough hard moded 3ds owners on here we mostlikely will test it.

Am I missing something? I could have swore we have extensive knowledge of NAND Flashing.
yeah....does the OP? now your assuming, if they have a hard mod or can solder, yeah go right ahead....but people have simply said "be careful unless you know what your doing"......i.e play safe

anyways, goodluck to the OP....dont ignore advice just because it upsets the many.....everyone who offers legitimate advice here has been shot down by he mob, best advice get a hard mod or be prepared to mod it yourself once you get into this stuff......if that advice makes me a hater....hater must literally mean concerned about others well being rather than only for myself

I suppose I just assumed he had the ability to gather new knowledge from documented sources.
