I've already been through emunand patch hell, I'm sure as heck not implementing stuff to change patches on the fly for multiple emunands... just get 2 sd cards.
Approximately coming along.
LOL, I wasn't expecting that but okay.

Ah, yeah. I forgot about that because the outer SN on the 3DS is currently covered and I kept forgetting to check the label under the bottom plate. If you check your serial that last number is also slightly separated. Probably something else I guess.
Lol. I was going to say "Somewhere between 0 and 99% finished"Approximately coming along.

On another topic: Are we going to be allowed to boot without an emunand? You know, for science things.
That's all I can hope for. I like messing with my nand, but not with dozens of SD cards and the time wasted (re)formatting them for rednands.Maybe, depending on your system version. We'll see what makes it into the final release.

It would break the signatures IIRC. In Gateway emuNAND you could probably patch and change services around, but in an entirely (or mostly) vanilla environment, no.So, I was thinking about something earlier. Couldn't you have just patched the existing NAND files, like Home Menu to do the things that your patching your emulated NAND for? Sure, it would be dangerous, but it would allow for more of a custom cold-boot. I know this is 'somewhat' being worked on by a guy in the 3dsdev IRC, but instead he is attempting to launch Linux from cold-boot. From what I remember, what was stopping him was that the NAND checks what it is booting each time you start the handheld, and it wasn't determined if this was due to software or the motherboard. It is a nice thought, though.
Just figured I'd ask.

Ah, wonderful explanation. Thank you!
Now, here's to hoping there is more progress videos or pictures in the morning.
Do you guys have a list of things that need to get done? I mean, I know you do, but like in a written down format. I remember one being in the OP a little while back, it was super cool to kind of watch the list as things got checked off one by one.
Wait..So KARL is change 3DS region or does "trick" to bypass region checking of cart?( Hopefully this?) I do not wish to heavily modify 3DS... I still wish to use eShop.(Please tell if eShop is still function?)
The last digit of the serial number is just a check digit. Here's the algorithm: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=18753If you check your serial that last number is also slightly separated. Probably something else I guess.
I had figured it was something like this. Thanks for confirming it. NAND redirection, anyone? (also my camera seems to really like death grips...)
Also, since we can't always have good news, we have our first bug on N3DS. Our firm launching procedure somehow breaks 3D. If you leave 3D on, you can use it but it breaks face tracking. Likewise, if you leave it off, it stays off while in the CFW and moving the 3D slider causes this weird interlacing between the two 3D layers. We hope to fix this though, it's a very strange bug.
Amazing!
Did you guys fix the 3D issue when loading the emunand (as described by shiny), or do we need to go with the workaround of closing/soft-resetting the 3DS to re-enable the 3D function?
This is kind of disrespectful to other programmers."We" don't need to go with either, because *we* will be fixing it. We won't release with a bug like that.
