Homebrew [PSA] 10.4 POSSIBLY releasing 1/12/16

According to JustPingo, there is likely a system update just around the corner; next Tuesday, to be precise (https://twitter.com/justpingo/status/684480415260905473). This makes sense considering all the recently discovered 10.3 exploits, and how long it's been since the last "stability" update. Because recovery mode updates to the latest firmware, you're probably going to want to avoid getting soft bricked after 10.4 is released. I'd personally reccomend you just wait for KTM's release (as would many others on the forum), but if you absolutely insist on risking a brick by using sysupdater, then you should probably try it ASAP.

Remember that this is SPECULATION. It wouldn't surprise me if it's correct, but nothing is set in stone, and Nintendo hasn't officially confirmed this in any way. Take this whole thing with a grain of salt.

EDIT: To clarify, I'm American. I mean January 12th, not December 1st.

Forget that, I grew some balls and redid SysUpdater till it worked, and it did.

At this point nobody knows, first KTM was supossed to be SNSHax, then a Menú to use Memchunkhax 2, and now it seems like an safer alternative? that's what it's creator says.

I mean it still seems riskier to me than a standard system upgrade.
I'm pulling this out of my ass here, but I imagine normal updates are installed from nand instead of the SD card.
Installing off an sd card leaves many points for failure, especially if you are using a microsd in an sd adapter for an o3ds.

Since each title in the upgrade is an individual CIA, they probably load off the SD card one at a time.
It'd be pretty easy to lose contact to the sd card during the process screwing up the install.
Unless someone thought of this and the updater forces the updates to nand storage temporarily or something.

Anyone have info on this?

Yes, but I'm talking about where that download is stored temporarily and read from during the installation process.
If it's in nand then there's much less chance of losing contact to a hardwired nand chip compared to an sd card.

If this hasn't been accounted for in the downgrading tool, I'm betting this is probably the cause of some of the bricks when installs stopped midway through grabbing another cia title to install.

Again, I'm unsure how official updates are stored.

On topic, I am hoping this isn't true, so we can be given a few more days to get more stable downgrade and shit.
