I will try to fix your ignorance regarding the subject.
Nintendo has already done "something about the n3ds xl ips vs tn screen issue".
It accepted that including the higher quality IPS screen was a production error related to stock shortage of lower quality screen.
But since then Nintendo has fixed its production problems and is producing N3DS witn lower quality TN screens, as it was originally intended and planned.
Furthermore, always so devoted to fix their mistakes, Nintendo is replacing systems with the unintended high quality IPS screens for free.
Just send your on warranty faulty (faulty because it was not intended on design) IPS system to Nintendo and you will receive a shiny TN N3DS.
Fortunately for you, you received an unfaulty system from the get go. So you should be happy and not whine about it.

Do you have a source for this?

shouldnt matter for a source makes perfect since and its how supply and demand works on replacement parts.

Happens all the time in the industry of selling hardware.

My dad has a pair of £800 (each) speakers from when he was a DJ he had to swap the insides out on the main driver on a 3rd because they started using a different driver tht was Chinese made not american which had worse quality.

What nintendo probably did was order a crapton of LCD's they supplied IPS to replace any stock discrepancy. also explains why it is XL only

Nintendo don't add the LCD and Outer Plates with designs until end of production so thats why they are mixed in randomly.

I have a Majoras 3DS XL with an IPS there are many out their without.

Some people have reported your Hyrule 3DS to have an IPS but its very Few atm so it could be hitting the end of stock.

Also Nintendo do not advertise their 3DS as IPS display it was found out randomly by users, so it isnt their job to give you one so please leave your ranting somewhere else this isn't your Privilege you are not entitled

If it was such an issue from day one you should have returned it and just gambled on rebuying the console instead of this Tumblr rant waste of time you gave Nintendo and Us

Hell some People dont even like the IPS Panel because it causes Multiplex Interlacing (which can be seen)

Why the TN panel Doesnt

Maybe as a COLLECTOR you should spend more time appreciating the fact you got the console

Maybe then you may actually start deserving it

on another not Hyrule edition doesnt even look that good, eve the gold shade is bad

The IPS screen never was an advertised feature of the N3DS, this is my source.
Regarding everything else, no source that I remember. Google your way around, I am too lazy.
Or just go around the forums here in gbatemp and look for the facts, that will make you feel less special I guess.

I recently bought a WiiU WW Edition and my GamePad have a TN Display, should I call too? :C I don't want a different serial GamePad too :S

EDIT: My first GamePad have IPS Dispay... so, I really don't think of a "Production Issue"...

It's not an issue (In the case of 3DS or anything else). They weren't advertised as having a specific screen. If there were IPS screens available when you particular device was manufactured, it would probably have an IPS screen. If they had TN screens, you got TN. Why should Nintendo make sure a specific screen is used (And just let inventory of the other screen sit) when they have no obligation to provide one over another?

well... simply, like the OP said... we are paying the same price por a Quality Product vs a Low Quality one, if there were no issue in first place, then I don't know why Nintendo change the OP's one...

thats the thing OP didnt get an IPS display he got a TN thats why he sent it in for repair (because he didnt get an IPS so its obviously broken) then they replaced his internals because they couldnt find a fault obviouly so now he has a different serial lol

Also the fact the the TN panel is meant to be the standard LCD not the IPS so he is getting quality

The OP is mad that they did not receive an IPS screen on their special edition 3DS. Problem is, the IPS screen is not advertised as being included. You didn't pay anything for a particular screen. Variation in build quality is always a thing. It's usually not as obvious as a different screen technology, but those kinds of things can happen, and since it isn't an advertised feature of the device, you have no reason to complain.

You think you are unlucky?
Here in Saudi Arabia we pay $270 for n3dsxl
No sign for regular size n3ds yet.
I am still waiting for yukai watch physical edition to arrive and just yesterday learned they banned the game because you are talking with dead spirits.

Your Nintendo console is broken or bricked?
Say goodbye to it because there is no official support for it here.
Try call Nintendo and the lady you think she is nice will told you sorry, we can not serve you ,and hang the phone.
My club Nintendo was deleted by them when they find i don't live in NA.

All because my nationality.

Oh well, too bad.
Keep trying and looking for different possibilities. I hope some day you can.
I know it is not so easy, but I really think the freedom and peacefulness are worth the effort.

Wouldn't it just be possible for the user to buy an IPS panel for the 3DS and replace it yourself? That's what I would do if the screen were available to purchase, rather than waste Nintendo's time on something so trivial.
