Did you even read the first post? That's not what it's saying at all. It's not defending Gateway, it's shaming the people who trash talk Gateway in every thread where someone as much as mentions it, even when the person is quite satisfied with their Gateway cart.Yes, of course, because the benefits of having a working console don't outweigh the risks of spending 20 minutes setting up CFW. No one talks shit about Gateway until people make stupid threads like these saying Gateway is our lord and savior and that it's the best thing to ever happen to the 3DS. I think you guys are misinterpreting "Don't use Gateway. CFW is better." as "OMFG HOW DARE YOU USE GATEWAY SO BAD EWWW GROSS!!1!"
And you know what's funny? I don't think any of the people trash talking the Gateway have ever used one.
I own a Gateway, and I have Luma3DS. They both work with A9LH, both work with the latest firmware, and both will play all the 3DS games you could want. CFW has the benefit of being open which leads to people contributing to it and it having more features. Is that a good thing? Sure. It is a reason to talk trash about Gateway? Apparently, according to some people it is. But is it a good reason? Hell no.
And there is nothing preventing me from using both and getting the benefits of .3DS rom loading and a robust cheat system along with the extra features CFW has like GBA/DSiWare support.
So what was that about having a working console? Last time I checked my 3DS still works perfectly fine.
Because if you read it you'd know that everything said in that post is true and you completely misunderstood the point of this thread.Gateway has also bricked people's consoles for no reason at all. The card just decides to brick the console. And who would want to read some big wall of text about something that's plain wrong?
