Get over yourself m8. You yourself said it'd be a sub-5 minute job.

Yet again you seem to have either missed or ignored my reply to you explaining why it is the way it is, in a very user and noob friendly sense, and as to why it shouldn't happen from a developers, user, and as someone who personally spends hours daily helping people, perspective. It is Noob Friendly, as it needs to be.

Potentially is the keyword. I'm certain it'd confuse no one.

Sure you'd have to get Plailect on the line to add another line to his Luma Config step, or hell maybe even not. But I really doubt it'd confuse anyone.
I'm actually certain it would confuse at least one person. Until you've been on Nintendo Homebrew you can't really say that.

I've been on Nintendo Homebrew. Kinda sad you're saying the end users are completely stupid to defend your stance.
Have you seen the shear amount of users who think they have bricked their systems even when following 3ds.guide that they cannot fucking read whats infront of them saying that they need a new damn boot.firm to allow their system to work?

Some of them are extremely technologically challeneged, this CFW is for them as much as it is for someone like me who is the polar opposite of that. That comment was literally made explicitly to reinforce that.

to answer OP, the reason why there are CFW wars against Luma is because people like 8BitWaluigi want useless stuff or pretend they do
To answer OP, the reason CFW wars exist is because no one can have a civil discussion or suggest an idea without elitist devs shooting down suggestions.
For real, stop trying to use fucking psychological warfare to make astronautlevel feel bad. It's just low.
Mate, I just want to be able to turn off a fucking menu. And turn it back on when I need to
Okay, how about this: Yes. There are enough people who use Luma3DS who could be confused by such an option. I know some IRL also.
Then why not discourage the use of said option?

I'm actually done now. I've been at this for two whole hours. It's 5am where I live. I don't need to be doing this now.
I look forward to whatever happens next. The thread gets locked. I get a warning. I don't even know.

This has certainly been eye opening though.

How about I make a brick option with a name "overwrite FIRM0/1" and then just discourage the use of the option?
Discouraging options won't do anything in the end. People will mess with it anyway.

Fortunately for you, this feature already exists in Luam3DS! Here's instructions on how to use it!
  1. To ENABLE the menu, press L+SELECT+DOWN
  2. To DISABLE the menu, press B when the menu is ENABLED
  3. The key combination to ENABLE the menu can be configured easily.

It's been an hour an a half. More even.
People get confused over what the root of the SD card is.
People get confused when they have to set luma config back up.
People get confused putting the homebrew starter pack on the SD card.
People get confused putting files in the proper place.
People get confused on how to put the SD card in their PC.
People get confused on selecting restore sysnand(keep a9lh), this lead to hourglass9 being made.
People get confused on where to enter the URL for loading hacks on the system.

The avg person hacking their 3ds is fairly tech illiterate. Spend sometime in the nh discord, or the noob thread here. You will see just how dumb the avg 3ds user is. If you really think it wouldn't confuse people, you're really naive.
