holding L doesn't have anything with the saving
holding L makes the card softreset before launching the game, by mistake the EZ team didn't enabled that by default
loads of games have issues if you don't use the L+A
this being true in firmwares 2.01 and before.

Aahhhh thanks for clearing this up for me. It was giving me gray hairs, and i didn't know if it was my code or the flash cartridge that had a problem :)

I just beat it on mGBA, it was really good. The one thing that annoyed me a bit was that level with the hearts with blocks you need to break surrounded by invincible blocks.

As you might have guessed, this is a design decision, so you have to fight to stay alive in the small space between the hearts until you can finally get a fireball and break them. I will take a note that it is a bit annoying, and potentially redesign the level. Thank you so much for the feedback :) this is truly an amazing forum! I got absolutely no feedback on Reddit, this is where the true GBA fans are! <3 :D

I like it. The level design is clever (unlike most Breakout clones), but what are the robots about?

Thanks :) The robots are just monsters. There are differently themed monsters in all the worlds, and the first world (which is the crashed spaceship) is full of robots for some reason :) I thought of making an XP system of some sort, where you had to hit the monsters multiple times with the ball, and thereby gaining XP which you could use for something like buying level ups of some sort.

The link is currently dead, so the ROM is lost at the moment. It is currently being searched for and it will be posted here once it is found.

No. I mean it was on my SD card that I use for my EZ4. I never patched this rom because I have been using the 2.x kernel that auto patches.

Just played through the game on my Micro with an EZ Flash Omega. Worked flawlessly. Great work! And inspiring too :D

Loving it, original content on GBA. Works nicely on SP+Omega, thanks for releasing it. Please consider sharing source code in e.g. GitHub, open source is pop.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
