i need help with this i found my friends old 3ds on version 8.1.0 and he wants me to access the homebrew launcher oothax wont work and neither does sound hax

Keep trying it, it's finicky sometimes. Also make sure you try all of the links, I believe there are 4.

you won't be able to use *hax 2.x/hbl on <9.0. you can do https://3ds.guide/installing-boot9strap-(browser) then update when told after and be able to use hbl.

if you installed everything you should already have fbi. but you probably didnt, seeing as you missed the freaking title, you probably also missed the "continue to section 3" button.
