If anyone could just help me real quick.

I bought switch near release and played only Zelda,

Finished and never touched it again.

I never got it online for an update. What version it is? And what game can I buy to get it to 3.0.0 ?

Thanks!

Check by going to System Settings>System>Current Version:

Pokken Tournament is the only gamecart to have 3.0.0

version that you're on is probably something like 2.0.0, you can buy pokken tournament dx to update to 3.0.0.

System only shows

SYSTEM UPDATE and below it (! SYSTEM UPDATE IS READY)

But I never did update.... but doesnt show the version.

Will try to borrow a pokken from someone here in Brazil to update.

Should I Initialize the switch to clean any downloaded system updates on memory?

to clear updates you can turn off your switch and when turning it on hit +- and it'll clear updates.

I'm leaving my Switch on 2.3 till all cleared up
updating it to 3.0 then screwing it up,the only only option to recover is downloading the latest update.

A few questions about Emunand (or its potential equivalent for Switch):
  1. Would it represent the only way to play (legit) games that require >3.0.0 firmware?
  2. Is a kernel exploit necessary to achieve it?
  3. Would we also need to decrypt the games in order to play with our (legit) cartridges?
Needless to say, we're talking about an hypothetical (and probably very distant) future. But I'm curious (i.e. anxious :rolleyes:).

    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

    At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    @SylverReZ,
    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.

OK no problem the issue is he would download DBZ movies and they where amazing usually like 2-8KB in size lol can't remember how many times I had to format and reinstall windows over his stupidity. I even explained to him about file sizes multiple times...
