He probably forgot to rename the CFW file which could be the very culprit why some ppl can't get it to update

1. Install the flsh.hex
2.Make a blank page as home
3.Bookmark http://redthetrainer.com/ps3/
4.clear cookies cache and search history
5.Load NOR and NAND writer
6.For me I load NOR cuz I'm on a regular sliM CECH 25xx with 3.50 as lowest version and 4.82 as my current version
7. Click write to NOR
8.If successful PS3 will say SUCCESS and turn off by itself and then press circle to cancel scan filesystem
9.go to system update and update and storage media
10. At 70% it says
11.Repeat 1-9 and just boot into safe mode same error with corruption

Well, when you boot your console you'll see the logo of the CFW usually. Ferrox has it's own logo that appears.
Cobra Ferrox has another logo.
Rebug has its logo, etc.

If you plan on loading PS3 ISOs and games you need a Cobra firmware, e.g. Ferrox 4.82 Cobra. Ferrox 4.82 Standard Version is not enough for loading the romzzz

You're not gonna get banned for using the internet, but if you sign into PSN you might. If you use PSNinja and PSNPatch before you go online though you should be decently safe though.

PSNstuff is a program that let's you download from sony servers, there is app like it for the vita that let you download games from sony server to the vita directly, same the freeshop for 3DS.

I've read every post of this thread and haven't seen any fixes for this sadly.
Have you tried another CFW?
E.g. if you're trying Ferrox Standard, try Ferrox Cobra. I doubt it's gonna make any difference but try it if you haven't.

I tried both FERROX 4.82 COBRA 7.53

Also the new one that just showed up: 4.81.2 rebug patched to 4.82
Both have same results.
