Well Japan does have country side as well if you don't go to tokyo ^^V
and the cost of living is not high at all depending on your needs oO

like I spent ~7€ for my "hotel" a day (private room but only futon on a tatami mat) than I go to a "expensive" konbini and get a bento or a few rice balls for 3-4€ buy a 1L bottle of sparkling water for 60 cents and after midday or in the evening I make some edamame and or Rice for 1€ or go to a restaurant and eat some stuff for 2-10€ depending on whatever I like ...

I don't spent a lot of money and outside of the big cities you can get cheap flats and all...

Very true. I know about outside of the big cities I can get for cheap flats and all, of course. However, I dont like Japan itself anyway. Not to my liking. And I am not crazy about Chinese/Japanese food either. Nice tasty but not my type to eat, I guess.

I prefer Western Europe and some Eastern Europe due to flats, cost of living and food. Been there many time because thats where I came from. One that I really drooled is th at Villa Apartment was so so beautiful and nice looking. It was only 250 € with utilities include outside of the city, of course. And car insurance is cheaper there than here in America. Here in America, can you find something like that in the city and outside of city? NONE! No, here is a high cost of living in America.. Insane!

I like their culture and various forms of media and entertainment. Save for some exceptions, namely the extreme and gross Japanese porn. The regular stuff in comparison, where it's women with high pitch moans and pixelated censorship, fine. But putting women in a bag and vacuuming out the air, nearly suffocating them? No. Eyeball licking? No! Sexualizing things that should just stay in Tokyo Gore Police? No, fantastic Japanese movie by the way.
If those are the examples of what is too much for you, you probably haven't even scraped the surface of it...

And everyone talking about prices for flats and stuff, forget flats, you can buy castle-sized houses with humongous gardens if you go look in the countryside for as cheap as a regular-sized flat in a big city in the US would cost! You can find villas right next to Fuji cheaper than an apartment in Tokyo if interested in living there and as for rent, when I asked around in Oita and Sapporo when I visited, both were under 280$ a month for prime location houses and that was before the last devaluation too, meaning now it's even cheaper.

but how are they strict about porn oO? have never seen so many big sex shops and such an enormous ammount of different kind of porn dvds with every possible fetish you could imagine XD
Have you actually bought anything from them? All the "naughty bits" are censored while everything else going on is OK. That's the kind of hypocrisy I don't like. And this is only my personal opinion, but I think that part of the Japan culture is so perverted because of this. They made sex to be illegal and frowned upon and let people make workarounds and nasty af stuff.

Well I don't have all day, I know there's a lot more that I probably haven't even seen. Plus I'd have to remember them, and I don't want to. For example, I saw a clip where a Japanese woman was licking the thickest shmegma ever, a bowl full of shit and puke and all this really vile stuff, and the woman had to suck it all through a funnel. Mentally fucked up, a woman had to do some outdoor porn scene where her friend supposedly died. I think on camera, but it was a huge prank, up to the reveal, she was forced to finish her scene. Scat, but that's worldwide. Not as fucked up but really cringeworthy, a woman got mad from a man being too handsy with her, she MMA kicked him in the sack. You can hear the impact too and the guy spent the rest of the recording in fetile position.

I'll add too that in the recent anime on Netflix, Devilman Crybaby, especially episode 1, they go all out in gross demon imagery. Basically the demons in the Sabbath scene have killer genitals, so an anime form of Tokyo Gore Police.

Eh, I wouldn't say they are the best eastern Asia country. There are better ones.

Not a fan of their forms of entertainment/culture and friendliness towards others from other nations.

All of that is NOTHING compared to the shit I've seen from Japan, that's kiddy stuff:P What I'm talking about starts from the point where the fucked up things are still at the level of giving a woman semen enema, then having her instantly take a shit with that straight into another woman's mouth and that's the "entry-level", so trust me, you DON'T want to know the shit I've seen! I've managed to barely not puke after seeing the entrypoint to "advanced" stuff (one involving a dead fetus, a woman, a woman with a natural penis from mutation, a LOT of shit and other gross things, extreme torture, cannibalism and a couple other stuff ALL AT ONCE) and I had to stop there and forget what I saw (like literally forced my memory clean but traces still remained)! Go read Nietzsche instead, you will learn a valuable quote...

Again... Huh? What services are you talking about? Anything Government related (things that you need to go to city hall for) is WAY more efficient than the US will EVER be. Cable & Internet? Not even close to the US. Not in price, not in quality, and not in Quantity. Not. Even. Fucking. Close. Japan rules.

And I really don't get all the comments about the "weebs". Japanese government PAYS to have children because they are in a crisis with respect to the ratio of young people to old people. There are far more old people collecting social security (in part because the health care system is just that good) than there are young people working and paying into that system.

I was going by comments I got from people that lived there vis a vis interacting with government agencies and similar such services. Once you get them working for you then agreed they do what they need to do. Granted most of those were foreign nationals (both with the help of a local and with a serious command of the language) so that adds a serious layer of bureaucracy but the sorts of things like I find in Europe, Australia and the like where there are online services for everything, phone services for most, offices you can walk into and deal with and generally workable systems were not there. Even the US with its wonky setups (I still find the lack of a simple online tax system to be highly amusing) they rated higher.

Weeaboos or however you wish to spell it are the internet slang for the Japanophiles that go a bit over the top and assume it is the land of milk, sunshine, rainbows and honey. Sometimes they go there and get shocked back to reality but other times not so much and if they have never been then they are sure to make some odd comments in both discussions like this and ones where Japan is only tangentially related. I don't see where you managed to the children bit from it. The Japan population demographics are fascinating to me though as it is probably the main case of anything like that in a big country.

I live abroad there about 10 years ago, I loved it. The food, the people, the culture. I lived mostly in the countryside, which I loved a helluva lot more than I did in the cities. :P I'd go back if tickets were so expensive. And yes, I learned the language as I lived with native speakers while there too :D

Also, their internet infrastructure doesn't suck like ours.

Basing Japan off of anime is sort of spineless and maybe considered insulting.
It's like basing America off of American Dad, doesn't work snrk.

Finding Rural Towns requires a big dig as Japan is one of the largest industrial countries that I've heard of, and it's rapidly overcoming their traditions to keep up with modern technology.

Just as an example, my town is extremely famous for its History yet when you visit it's just a normal seaside town in all honesty. It's more touristy than historic. Sure it holds a few relics here and there but that's it.

In all honesty you just have to look in the right places to get the right results. Same logic applies to most thing in all honesty.

Lived there for 2 years and have visited 2 weeks at a time 6 times since. Mixed feelings. I'd love to live there if I were super wealthy. No way I'd ever work for a Japanese employer again.

My input in a non hipster manner you don't need to be a weeb to have an interest in their culture I know Japan has more to offer than its weird anime/porn that some ppl seem to facemask their society with.
Would make an interesting trip to see Tokyo, the technology there has always surprised me more than anything else. Wouldn't mind visiting their famous sushi spots aswell, tho I wouldn't like to "Live" in Japan b/c of financial reasons, but I'd still enjoy it as a trip

Can't say I like it, can't say I don't. Because i've never been there.
In the end, all countries have ups and downs.

I'd love to visit Japan some day though.

I got to go to Tokyo for a week in 2013 and it was one of the best trips I've ever taken. Akihabara, Shinjuku, Tsukiji fish market, and Odaiba were awesome!! I want to go back SOOOOOOOOO badly!!! I even got to see a big sumo wrestling event when I went. Also, I'm sure this was because I went to Tokyo and not the country side, but I had no problem at all with communication as many people sort of understood English and also things were written in English everywhere.
