Don't care if they "stole" code or not. They have a working CFW that does what everyone wants. Homebrew and piracy.
That's code from SXOS thats been deobfuscated and it contains strings that are in the freely available open source code from the switchbrew github that he posted later in the comments of the tweet. Can I get a noob-level explanation
const char* g_easterEgg = "Do you mean to tell me that you're thinking seriously of building that way, when and if you are an architect?";
Law doesn't care about your feelings, kiddo.Don't care if they "stole" code or not. They have a working CFW that does what everyone wants. Homebrew and piracy.
Yes.Ok I see the easter egg now in both. So I guess its up to whomever made the homebrew loader to pursue legal action against TX?
Just what we needed, more drama. Although I would be lying to say I am curious about how TX will respond to these allegations, even before any legal proceedings.Yes.
sneak peek of TX trying to brick my emulator, *oh noes*! (in case anyone bricks while messing with this the password should usually be "WANNA PLAY? :)") pic.twitter.com/vKaPyY5GpM

Notice how I said modified...
Same thing I was thinking lol, this shit is done all the time by Chinese companies. It really doesnt matter if there is a GPL violation, you can't do anything against some unknown person(s) in china.
Nintendo would have been all over that already.

Calm down, kid.So I guess T-X should be thanking groups like Toilet Bowl Overfail for being douches?

Yeah yeah, I noticed. Was just playing with words. But really, who cares? The anti-piracy white knights can stand on their morals and T-X is standing on piles of cash. With all the CFW stuff coming out of the woodwork, and that PlayStation hacking group jumping into the mix recently, there are going to be a boat load of CFW options to pick from soon and T-X -MIGHT- see a very slow and steady decline in sales in the coming months.
But, for myself and fellow pirates, we just want backup loading and we want it NOW! T-X was the first out of the gate so they claimed the prize money. Going forward, they'll still rake in some cash (even after the explosion of CFW starts depriving them of $$$$) by selling their dongle. That PSX hacking group has it right also.... people want a dongle because it's super easy to load a payload onto your Switch that way vs. a web site.
If the Switch hacking scene wasn't dominated by attention whore anti-piracy white knight e-penis douche bags, they could have worked together and dropped a backup loader just as T-X was taking pre-orders. This would have dealt a big blow to T-X as they would have had to front the money for production costs then had the rug pulled out from under them as free alternatives popped up. They would of had a ton of product that nobody wanted because backup loading was free via alternative means but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....... muh morals!!!

Isn’t TX Chinese? They’ll probably just laugh it off.
lol @ SX"OS" violating Atmosphere's GPLv2 license. Not that that's surprising, I guess.... https://t.co/yJeqrErvWz

But aren't those pretty big name companies with lots of money and lawyers? I wouldn't argue that its impossible but TX might have the upper edge in legal standing. I don't know how many Switch hackers have a lawyer on speed dial (at least not for prosecution).See https://wiki.fsfe.org/Migrated/GPL Enforcement Cases
Plenty of Chinese based companies have lost in court for the same actions.
Again, if you've never dealt with any of these things first hand, then stop commenting on if/how/what can be done about it. I can assure you all, as someone who HAS been involved in this kind of case at a previous employer, that you absolutely can bring a Chinese company to court (and win) for a license violation.

Solutions to these problems:Taking a huge, Chinese, multi-national conglomerate to court..... sure. Identifying/locating all the members of T-X that were involved in the crime of violating a GPL license and hauling them into court..... good luck?
