Well, over those 4 years I dived deeper into Falcom games, Ys games I haven't played before then, Faxanadu, Gurumin, even played the Gagharv Trilogy. I think I became the massive Falcom fan I am today during those 4 years of waiting. And then Sky SC was released in late 2015. I will never forget the day I started my first playthrough, right on release day. Such a magical moment and time...
I think it was the first time since the early PSX era when I was still a kid, that I felt so excited for a video game's release. Somehow booting up Sky SC, reminded me of those magical moments when I put FFVII into my PSX. All the anticipation was just so high. You don't get this feeling these days anymore.
Only very few people were talking about SC or Trails in the Sky in general back then, the community was very small but extremely dedicated. The hype wasn't artificially generated and milked dry by trailers and gaming sites constantly talking about it, there was a certain mystery surrounding SC during those 4 years. It felt like waiting for a game during the SNES/PSX era when gaming was still very niche. SC's English release back in 2015 may be the last time I will feel this way... sadly even when it comes to future Falcom game releases.
