When you use MS, when you start up ACNH, hold L to start it without the other addons that might interfere. You mentioned you don't use edizon, which is one of the things you want not loaded, but just in case, might be something there interfering.
Also check the IP address on the MS, I know the default address that shows up isn't the one that I use, I use the one that shows up on my switch when I load up ftpd for example.

same error still, I fresh installed and did the manual install, as well as extracted it again and no luck either way. I'm guessing i'm trying to connect wrong to be honest but i'm not sure how or where i'm going wrong.

They are. I've tried with the hotspot method and the wifi method and no luck.

so with poker i've managed to get a connection, but sys-botbase won't respond. I am 100% positive i have the most recent version installed. I'm at a loss.

no, i just tried poker after ms just wouldn't work.

Are you sure MS have the same ip as your switch?
If poker conects, i found hard to believe ms wont connect

I get the previous error posted when i enter the same IP in MS, I get this error when I post the same IP. I've reinstalled sysbotbase so many times now.

I've yet to make it work by fully connecting yet. Everything else works perfectly now, except that.

I have a new question/problem. While trying to make these issues work, my friend wanted to come to the island. I tried to open up the airport for her and it says that an error has occurred when it tries to connect me to the internet.
Is there something, in particular, I have to do to make that work?

gotcha. I'll clear that and go back to normal and try again.
