Hey

I just bought a 360 Slim in a mint condition. The preowner told me that it was rarely used and that everything works fine.
This is true except for Xbox Live. I am not sure what is wrong, but every time I try to download my profile I get the following error message:
Sorry, there's a problem with the credentials that you're using to sign in. Go to https://account.live.com to fix the problem.

8015000A

I don't even have the chance to get to the password screen. As soon as I type in my mail address, I get this error message again. I also tried multiple accounts and also one that definitely works on another 360. I tried to format the HDD, reset the system cache, change some account settings, changing the DNS and even open all ports on my router. Even the Xbox support doesn't know what could be wrong after over an hour of trying some stuff again and again. Does anyone know how I could fix the issue?

Guessing you got the error code

8015000A?

I got it as well and I'm not sure what is going on, but the only thing I was able to do was load a backup I had created. The last few days it kept popping up with this error code and nothing seemed to fix it. Maybe wait it out or see if you have a backup somewhere on a usb.

I don't have a backup as I own the console just for a few days. Not sure what else I could do now. :/
is that the error code you are getting? If so, I did find a website in the UK that said this is going on across the globe and it is only impacting xbox 360.

Also, do you happen to have an xbox one or xbox series x and use the same profile for both that and the 360?

Yeah that is the error code. Do you still have the link to the website?

Edit: Yea I use the profile on my Series S.

A few years ago XBL had problems with the authentication server causing issues with downloading profiles and creating XBL tickets for new online keyvaults. Might be the same thing?!?

Microsoft have a lot of issues with their live service in the last time.
I recommend to wait a few days.

As an example: On my Xbox Series X I'm getting constantly logged out and thrown out of the Game into the Game Menu or sometimes to the Dashboard, Sometimes I also get the Message that I have to renew my Subscription.

The Servers are not reliable right now so the best way is to wait a few Das and if you still get the same Error I would try reset the Console.

I hope that server issues are the problem. I tried pretty much everything to get this working and had no success.

Btw: Is there a way to fully reset the console? I know about formatting the HDD and the initial setup, but I am unsure if this fully resets everything.

There's a code to reset to a prior firmware (input the button sequence at the system menu) which prompts to download and install the most recent live update, but that didn't work for me.

edit: just tried to connect to live and it prompted a service alert error. So it seems it is still an issue. however i was able to download my profile!! Check it for yourself to see if it is fixed.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
