I managed to build a copy of it that runs in Wine (at least for me). Unfortunately, though, it seems like none of the output AVIs have sound. I've attached it to this post anyway; hope it helps.
I know how all the music works. (For the file-select in particular, it's actually a sequence that plays a single note on an "instrument" that sounds just like the file-select music -- i.e. effectively streamed music, while technically a sequence like every other track. We had to do it that way...
As the person who prepared the MP3 and FLAC soundtrack downloads: I'm interested, but I don't know how to do this. Maybe if someone could direct me to a tutorial or something?
Thanks for the support, everyone!
Not to advertise, but we have a Newer U discussion thread on another forum, which the developers (including myself) check much more frequently than this one. If you want to ask us questions regarding development, you'll probably get answers more quickly there...
Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii had one giant world map (if you ignore some area-switching transitions due to technical limitations).
New Super Mario Bros. U had one giant world map.
You can probably guess our plan. :)
(For those who don't know, I'm a member of this project.)
Because your facts are wrong. I'm aware of the details of both exploits -- including how each works -- and I can confirm that only one is fully developed. The other doesn't even have a proof-of-concept yet, and it would theoretically be "annoying" for the end user, anyway. (Remember the...
Even if it does, it wouldn't help. The vWii is already entirely compromised through existing methods, and any vulnerability like this would be irrelevant to escaping its sandbox.
I just asked Marionumber1, NWPlayer123 and MrRean, and none of them have Hykem's exploit yet. Unless Hykem himself has made something without telling us, there are currently no IOSU homebrew apps ready for release.
Nintendo uses the .szs extension to mean "Yaz0-compressed data," in general. Usually the data is a SARC archive, but there are games other than MK8 that use SZS to compress files of other types. One game even uses SZS for Yaz0-compressed font files (BFFNT).
.BFLIMs are texture files for layouts ("binary cafe layout image"). I've been able to extract the images from some of them manually, but I don't think there's a converter for them yet.
There are ways of downloading and unpacking system update data on a PC to see what they contain. 5.5.1 is 100% confirmed to only affect the Internet Browser.
Everyone who has inspected 5.5.1 has decided that it almost certainly doesn't "phone home." There are no new URLs in the browser, and...
I'm in the channel, and I can tell you that that's a real log from a few minutes ago.
I can also tell you that Marionumber1 made it clear afterwards that he was joking.
I am trying to hack Fire Emblem Warriors on my 2DS XL, I have been trying to get it to work, but I need some extra help figuring it out. I have HEX codes, and a possibly outdated plugin, but I dont know how to implement them
