Shenmue: Reclaiming The Path (fan game) trailer

The creator behind the popular Shenmue Dreams of Saturn fangame, George Kitchen, has just dropped a trailer for his latest project, titled "Shenmue: Reclaiming the Path".

This fan made game follows the events of Shenmue 2 and lets players explore the previously unreachable region of Guilin as a new protagonist.

Explore the new villages of Bailu and Shouzu as you prepare to confront the notorious Chiyou men, the same crew responsible for Ryo Hazuki's father's demise in the original games.

Shenmue: Reclaiming The Path will be available on PC on September 16th and will feature fully implemented subtitles and controller support.

Ah remember when people actually cared about Shemue? That was after the third game was so bad and the revelation the Author planed a huge amount of games that at current Shemue games release date will never be done before the creator dies or we do.

Who said that the 3rd one was bad? It was good, not bad. Bad for people who never played previous ones, good for the ones who did.

Well, they're all opinions. I liked the game as an old Shenmue fan, if you didn't or someone else didn't then it's fine of course. I never watch some stupid videos, I come to my own conclusions based on gameplay. I might agree or disagree on things, but at the end of the day - does it really matter? I simply enjoyed it, but first one will always be the one for me, a bliss.

I own two Dreamcasts and the first game disc for Dreamcast, could never get the second game for Dreamcast unfortunately.

Just comparing the first game to the third one the third one is worse.

Even if the third one had been a Dreamcast one, I would not have liked it.

As it is, give me a good mod for it and I might give it a second chance.

Edit: Found a decent Mod, unfortunately even with the Mod battles still give no experience.

Of course it's worse than the first one, for me no other installment will ever beat it. I also couldn't get the second one back in the day, but I was able to download ripped version (remember downloading it for a long time because internet was what it was). Got the legit copy for Dreamcast quite lately, like a year ago or so? Still sealed, but it was quite expensive. About third one, it's just that this game should have been released years and years ago.

Glad i've been holding off with the third game then. I thought people who hated Shenmue 3 hates the other Shenmue too but apparently there's new features that makes the third game bad.

I think the myth around Shenmue is more interesting than the game. As a kid I heard they modelled all of Tokyo and it was so detailed you could knock on every door. In reality they modelled a few streets, and you could knock on doors but most were just textures of a door with the same animations and audio playing for each one when you knock.

Those who didn't play Shenmue back in the day unfortunately won't understand what it was. It was an experience like no other. There wasn't anything like that and this game was incredible for its time. You got to experience so many things, new and fresh things in one game.

This looks really impressive. I've had Shenmue I&II sitting in my Steam collection, and I STILL need to play through both. Maybe one day, I'll be able to judge the third game.
