Nintendo officially confirms Switch successor console, announces Nintendo Direct for next month

While rumors had been floating about rampantly as to the future plans of Nintendo, the President of the company, Shuntaro Furukawa, made a brief statement confirming that Nintendo is indeed working on a successor to the Nintendo Switch. Capping off Nintendo's quarterly financial report was an announcement that the unveiling of Nintendo's follow-up to the Switch would happen before the end of this fiscal year (March 2025). In the same message, Furukawa also announced that a Nintendo Direct is on the way sometime in June--though it will focus solely on latter-half 2024 Nintendo Switch titles, and will not feature any information regarding the successor system.

Current rumor reports state that a "Nintendo Switch 2" system was scheduled to be released around holiday 2024, though the hardware was delayed internally, to make sure that the upcoming system had as many quality launch titles as possible. Bloomberg has reported that Nintendo has been supplied with a notable amount of 8-inch Foxconn LCD screens, implying that the new Nintendo hardware may be very similar to the Nintendo Switch.

That's cool! I want to see real Nintendo Switch 2 hardware console. Do have NVMe slot on motherboard to allow us to add storage? I hope for that. Install 4 TB or 8 TB or 16 TB SSD would be great!

If Nintendo Switch 2 can't have empty NVMe slot for SSD storage then I will skip it to hop on PlayStation 5 Pro very soon then blow Nintendo out of it! Boo Boo to Nintendo! LOL :rofl2:

Lol, nintendo loves to throw that word out a lot, "Quality", as if it means something.

Well, not when it comes to nintendo it doesn't, recall Breath of the Wild, how its over sized, yet empty game map still to this day runs like a sack of shit..... and thats nintendos very own first party so called quality launch title.

Let's cut the crap, delays means either still trying to polish off its next bullshit gimmick idea to lure third parties into giving them "better support" while restraining them to only realistically supporting them by porting over all of the quality titles from past gen consoles that nintendol FAILED to offer when these titles were new.

No doubt we will see nintendo offer diluted features as they slowly catch up with its past gen rival consoles thus been subpar to the PS4, while its new console is in fact +2 gen console and it STILL be inferior.

Yet again it'll be over priced old inferior hardware with bullshit gimmicks that no body needs and it'll again promise better support and be another port whore machine.

Only difference is nintendo are now telling you that playing Mario and all their usual recycled crap is only fun to play with this new bullshit gimmick.

That last part will be the excuse nintendo will say when the console fails..... as they did the WiiU.

Tho your list is missing the N64.

The cube was the end of nintendo releasing good hardware, they then saw how their devoted fanboys will blindly buy the same cheap shit again and thats when they started recycling old shit with bullshit gimmicks.

It PRINTS MONEY, they couldn't even be arsed with the Switch, porting this and that, more glued to Google trying to hunt down their next victim to send their legal dogs after.

I don't want to believe in what the Rumors are saying. I almost want to stop looking at NIntendo Twitter because there's an account named Pyoro that just loves spoiling new stuff for Nintendo and whatnot. Leaking TTYD, Princess Peach Showtime, the new Monkey Ball, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, and whatnot.

I remember when people used to be mad when people spoil things for others, but I guess not on Twitter. But then again, the Sonic fanbase on there is atrociious

Another thing I'm noticing is that people are making the usual rediclous game releases that are coming out.

Metroid Prime 4, a new DKC, remasaters, ports, remakes-- I'm just waiting for Nintendo to cook man, seeing all of y'all saying "New Mario Sports game!" is just making me die inside
