Ubisoft has today officially revealed the next installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise: Assassin's Creed Shadows. This entry is set in late Sengoku-era Japan and follows the story of two protagonists. The cinematic premier trailer aired today provides a glimpse at the setting:

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you will live the intertwined stories of Naoe, an adept shinobi Assassin from Iga Province, and Yasuke, the powerful African samurai of historical legend. Against the backdrop of the turbulent late Sengoku period, this remarkable duo will discover their common destiny as they usher in a new era for Japan. From chaos to purpose, from darkness to light. A new Creed rises over Japan.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is slated to launch this November 15 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.

I hope they bring back sections of the game that allow you to roam modern day Japan too. Probably outside the scope of what ass creed is today, but it would be cool.

Speaking of Star Wars outlaws, that game ALSO requires online. Not only that is a huge turn off, but also the Gold and Ultimate editions as well

  • Ubisoft confirmed to be planning on using AI art, assets, and some AI Voice Acting rather than spending money on real peoples work.
Wow this is the height of absolute greed. We need to encourage people to reject and push back against this kind of thing, otherwise it's just going to get worse.

They are about, or worse than Nintendo when it comes to anti-consumerism.

Literally reporting people in the UK for possibly saying things that cause hurt feelings.

Assassin's Creed: Sekiro; Nobunaga's Revenge.

Or whatever.

People act like they aren't always online anyway.

People are always online, Ubisoft's servers won't be. As soon as the microtransaction revenue drops, Ubisoft will kill the service and the game owners will be boned.

By then the player usually gets what they want out of it. Or someone will come around with a hax that'll make it playable offline.

Yeah, silly me for thinking a game could have lasting appeal.

People shouldn't have to hack their games just so they could play them.
