    I did this more than a year ago using Checkpoint and being in airplane mode while restoring the savefiles in Sysnand, and I'm yet to be banned. Make of that what you will, though, be careful.

    You might've solved it already, but in case you didn't, you were missing "-lfreetype" in your LIBS line on the makefile, possibly among some others. Just use "`$(PORTLIBS)/bin/freetype-config --libs`" somewhere in your LIBS line instead. If you wanna take a look at my makefile, here you go...

    It wouldn't hurt to have a backup of the NAND on your latest firmware version, in case you accidentally burn the efuses. Right now, if that were to happen and your nand got messed up, you would be SOL.

    I cannot understand why people want a "backup loader", why not just buy the original game outright, it’s hardly a huge expenses, if you can afford the actual handheld/console Nintendo Switch then surely you can afford to pay 30 pounds/35 dollars to buy a game, if not go down your local CEX game...

    No, It doesn't install them. It runs Mii Maker (or Super Smash Bros), and temporarily "overwrites" Mii Maker with the game you load, and the wii U plays the game you loaded while thinking it's running Mii Maker, this is the reason why you can't play online. (I know it's not exaaactly like that)

    Yes, you can. This is the Tubehax DNS, it will block nintendo's update servers, but you'll still be able to play online.
