I'm not as computer savvy as many of the other people on this forum, but I'll take a shot (or at least doing some math) =D. 500 Euro's = $627.65 USD --> I'll round to $630 for convenience.

Your case and your PSU save you anywhere from around $120-160 USD. That puts you within range of the $700 USD Budget Builds at Newegg (which I'll quote below).

~$100 Power Supply Unit (~600-700W)

GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 770 Motherboard

One of these video cards:

~$150 ATI HD 5770 1GB Video Card

I don't know all that much about Overclocking, but as far as your purposes lie;
Movies/Music/Internet/Games both of these builds look excellent and your PSU fits within both of their effective ranges. Just offering some initial build ideas, these are from EggXpert /
http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/172986.aspx and may provide some ideas.

Good Luck!

As amazing as Newegg is, and has been my primary source for parts and builds for myself, friends, family, and acquaintances over the last 9 years, they still do not ship outside the US.

From their FAQ:
Newegg.com does not currently ship internationally; we only deliver to locations within the United States and to Puerto Rico.

Edit/note:
My friend has gotten around this once or twice by placing an order and reshipping to his European friend; this is fine for replacing a part or two, but the increased shipping expense is not worth it for an order of several items especially considering RMA is not an option through this method due to overseas cross shipping if any of the items wind up DOA.

Newegg.ca does not ship outside of Canada.

Newegg.com.cn - as much as I would be willing to help in deciphering this site's shipping FAQ, I sincerely doubt the original poster intends to buy expensive computer parts through a translator. I did look anyway, and though they may distribute some types of products through EMS it is not implied anywhere I could see that they ship outside of China.

Newegg.com still does not ship outside the US. Fixed.

people in the uk should be using static ice for cheaper online parts

http://www.staticice.co.uk

going from that lamdatek online seem to have fairly decent prices

Asus M4A79XTD Pro - $74.22 (too lazy to do the pounds sign)
http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/in...?prodID=1810077

AMD Phenom II x4 945 - $98.20
http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/in...?prodID=1943859

Sapphire HD5770 512mb - $104.50
http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/in...?prodID=B445651

Kingston DDR3 4gbkit 1066 ecc unbuffered - $87.40
http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/in...?prodID=1683613

WD Caviar Black 1tb - $62.24
http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/in...?prodID=B128094

comes to about $519 (pounds ofc) including vat and delivery to most parts of the uk.

you could probably fit an i5 system in there, seeing as you've got a case, power supply and whatnot though.

While I was deciding whether to build or buy my last machine I found Novatech.co.uk looked like a rather good place to buy parts. Overclockers were a bit out of my price range, but I have a friend who used them and she was pretty impressed with their service.

If you're not buying until August I'd suggest waiting a month or two before picking out parts, computer prices change really fast so you may find something else drops into your budget in the next 2 months. Your best bet is to pick a parts site and look on there to get a feel for what you can get in the price bracket, rather than leaving the question completely open.

(Also to everyone else: GBP and Euros are completely different currencies, $720-$750 USD is the price bracket you're aiming for)

The parts that aren't required re the parts I already have. I'm looking for things like the CPU and RAM.

I won't try posting parts and prices. I'll just say that AMD are the better choice to look for in this particular case (although I personally would go for Core i3 or i5 anyway).

Along with Overclockers (which is always somewhat pricey), Lambda Tek (which has a nice PC buildier on the site) and Novatech (kinda generic), you can also look through Scan.co.uk and Dabs (affiliated with BT). Scan has a very nice website to look through and tends to be a touch cheaper sometimes. Dabs is a little more annoying (for me at least - they rarely post all the specs of any given part) but they do offer a really good service, and sometimes give the best prices anywhere. I always get DVD drives from Dabs.
