I dont know much about it, but what i understand, if you can do it on pc, you can do it on 3ds. So if you can pirate the dlc and run it as a mod on pc, you should be able to load it on the 3ds

I think it's impossible, because Afterbirth also have new mechanics and synergies, therefore new code, and you can't import new code with TBolModConversionkit, i believe.

It's not possible to add more content to the game. You would either have to remake the entire game from scratch or have the source code.

I remember I asked the person who made mod converter for 3ds and he said that afterbirth isnt just a dlc but it changes some core things in the game. So no, its not possible. Even if it was, the n3ds would not be able to run it, due to the fact it has shitty proccessors.

Isn't the problem. The problem is that fully optimizing game for 3ds would take a lot of effort. And it's not worth it in dev's opinion.
...which means the n3ds has verry low computation power. = shitty proccessors

Depends on the mod. If the mod only edits Graphics, it should work fine, with the obvious exception of the Afterbirth sprites. If the mod adds new items, you will need to modify the xml files to make them work (and even then, the items that give you an Afterbirth-only result won't function at all). If the mod adds new rooms, it won't work at all. If it is a Music mod, it depends on the format Rebirth stores its music files in.

Also, note that you can't add Afterbirth itself, since it adds things that can't be obtained by modding (new enemies, bosses, greed mode etc.)

Is it possible to add it partially?
Any items that only give stat ups/downs (includes health ups) can be added, since stat ups are defined in the items.xml file. Items that add game mechanics can't be added.

Additionally, the starting changes (The Lost starting with the Holy Mantle as an example) can be edited in by editing characters.xml .

The rest (bosses, keeper and Greed Mode) are all reliant on hardcoded mechanics, so those can't be added.

Lastly, the rooms are a special case since AB uses a different room format than Rebirth, so you will need to manually port the new rooms to the old format using Basement Renovator.

Could we also add the L rooms using this?

It would be possible it would take a lot of time, see it through the dev's eyes, he cannot be bothered because of how long it would take and how much effort is needed, but a group of modders could take that role, consider this modding for the new nintendo 3ds has grown exceptionally it's running almost everything that could never be ran before until now. Think about it we have a ps1 emulator which almost runs smooth as ice.. people need to open their eyes and stop thinking with what they believe they know, the n3ds is a powerhouse, yeah we all know the old 3ds is good, but the n3ds is way better which is why i believe this could happen.. think about it i managed to play rebirth on my old 3ds.. it wasn't even difficult, just changing a few things around.. you guys need to understand that we can do this, if we work together.. and if it turns out we need to get into detail it's not going to be difficult.. we could even add our own mini versions for example, just texture changes as one of you was saying.. we can edit the rooms to look like afterbirth or afterbirth+.. just think about how we could do this and how it can work and then talk to me about it.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in

    it's dumb

    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
