Im sorry i wont take up any more of your time on this after this last question but does this mean i am only able to recruit them in that save or how do i get them in the current one?

no worries, you can keep asking me questions if you don't understand, I don't mind.
But I think you are not really understanding my answer. What I'm saying is that they are already recruited. You can find them in your roaster, but under the "other" tab. Once they are bought, they will always be there. But the "other" characters can only be used at the record keeper, not in your story battle. Maybe that's why you thought they are still locked.

Here's some 010 templates for anyone who'd like to do some rom hacks.

- ThreeHopes_Learnset.bt
Modify the abilities/combat arts/spells that character learns at each level of class mastery.

- ThreeHopes_Accessories.bt
It's missing a lot of fields, but can be used to change the accessory abilities and the stat boosts.

To use the templates,
1. Extract LINKDATA_A.BIN from the game files.
2. Install 010 Editor and use it to open LINKDATA_A.BIN.
3. Run the desired template and make the desired edits
4. Place LINKDATA_A.BIN in atmosphere\contents\{titleid}\romfs\LinkData\CMN

Is a Save Editor being worked on? I accidentally bought 250 batallions that cannot be dismissed, and I just got to a point where the game gives you a batallion, essentially entering an infinite loop of "you don't have room for a new batallion" and "you don't have a batallion you can dismiss". I'd love to edit my save to remove some of those batallions so I can keep playing

damn didn't know you could softlock your game like that....seems like a major oversight that they allow you to buy 250 battalions that cannot be dismissed. Which one is that btw?

I believe it's called Einherjar? I know it's supposed to be an achievement reward. I used a cheat to allow me to buy any object I wanted (From the GBAtemp cheat archive!).

I just want to remove all my unequipped batallions from my save, and that's it I really don't want to play the game from the beginning haha

oh lol, I thought it was a vanilla bug...yeah there are tons of ways you can ruin your save through cheats. You don't have any earlier save you can load from?

So, decided to take a look into that txt datamine, and I found all the mid battle lines (Like when a character defeats a enemy, gets enough KOs, praises an ally) and I made a Google Spreadshett of all the PC+UNPCs. And while I couldn't find the context for most of the Unique lines, they all follow the same template, including the NPCs. Example, the Enemy Defeated (Unique) lines after the first 10 are for faction specific instead of character specific. The order of them is based on the datamine and not via the ingame unit list, so for example Monica and Holst are WAY later then the others. Also NPCs have generally lower amount of lines, whenever that's because they are scrubbed out with the voice still intact, or just outright not existing, I don't know. Take a look for yourself if you want to.

EDIT: Thinking about it: Does anyone have any footage of Quake Sigma in action, or is it just empty? It does have stats and a description although it's likely the latter is reused from Houses.

Not sure if anyone is still interested in this anymore or if this is common knowledge now but I found out that npc are fully playable if you emulate the game rather than playing it on the switch. Here's a video of me playing as Cornelia on a mission map. I edited the video a bit to make it more immersive.

Nice! How's the game running on emulator (Yuzu or Ryujinx)? Is it stable (i.e. doesn't crash) and how's the framerate?

I'm running the game on yuzu, and for me it works perfectly fine except maps such as the volcano looking map (the one where all three houses fight each other, at least for scarlet blaze from what i remember does) the frames do drop a bit but other than that it runs fine. The game only crashes/freezes if I mess with inventory during the preparation screen but I'm pretty sure that's because of the hacked characters not necessary the emulator. For me, the game sometime freezes mid gameplay then it goes back to normal (doesn't crash it just freezes for second, probably trying load stuff in) you can see it occuring for a split second in my video around 2:29-2:30.
