Your only hope is that somebody ports 7-Zip to the Switch.
And compressed files come in so many different formats, even within the same containers. Rarely, I'll even come across RARs that 7-Zip can't open, but WinRAR can.
What's in these RARs, anyway? If they're Switch games, you're almost certainly better off just sticking with NSZ files, as they save lots of space and many title managers are able to support them now.
Anything else, you're probably better off using your computer to do the extraction. All depends on what you're trying to do, if you're running an FTP server on the Switch I'm sure you can come up with a short script for your PC that will download a RAR file, extract it, and then FTP the contents over to the Switch.
Heck, you could write a PHP page that you can interact with using nXDownload, the page could take a URL parameter and return the contents it downloaded and extracted. Probably a bit overkill but definitely doable.
thats more of the fact that the file format only came out october last year and has only started to be streamlined in the recent monthsOh also NSZ files are practically no where on the internet so it doesn't seem very viable
Thanks. Soooo then back on topic, can I extract the RAR on the Switch console itself using some sort of existing homebrew?
I don't think so.
Though I don't know why you need that, just get your files on a PC, optionally compress them to NSZ, and move them to your Switch.
Mac has ns-usbloader.Ugh, well, if ONLY I had access to a PC.. I have a Mac and Chromebook
There are libraries for compressing/extracting archives and I'm pretty sure there are some switch ports of libraries like thatYour only hope is that somebody ports 7-Zip to the Switch.

Please add itmid you can tell me a viable use case for this, I will add it. If you are trying to extract rar’d nsp files I will just laugh.
Nice try, bot.Commander One is suitable for rar file opener mac.
