Looking to have the Youtube video window start out Expanded (or Maximized INSIDE the Firefox window). To me this seems like one of those 'million dollar ideas' that everyone has had, but Youtube is ignoring (like the STOP button!).

Searching Google leads mostly to "Google expands video service" and the occasional semi-relevant link which talks about the expand button being added.
I HAVE found some solutions (Greasemonkey scripts), but they seem a bit more complex than I think they need to be (I imagine that a line that triggers or 'emulates' the expand button when the player loads on Youtube.com would be enough) and those tend to break frequently when one minor thing changes.
I've also found a Chrome addon that does something similar, maximizes the player to the Chrome window, but it's for Chrome.

I'm not looking for something that increases the video quality, can't play 480p videos without stuttering when it's raining thanks to the shitty DSL in our neighborhood.

Try this,
CODE// ==UserScript==
// @nameÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂYouTube full screen
// @includeÂÂÂÂÂÂ http://youtube.com/*
// @includeÂÂÂÂÂÂ http://www.youtube.com/*
// ==/UserScript==

unsafeWindow.watchFull = watchFull;
unsafeWindow.hookLink = hookLink;
hookLink();

function hookLink(){
for(i=0;i

It's a Greasemonkey script.

I'm assuming that's what you wanted.
Wasn't particularly looking for greasemonkey (didn't have it installed til just now and would have liked to avoid it)
Also, that doesn't seem to work. I installed it from http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/7625
Browsing youtube's site is also broke with the script installed. I noticed the last update was 2007, another reason why I wanted to avoid Greasemonkey scripts (or even Stylish scripts, but I don't think there's much choice). Once something gets changed on the site the whole thing breaks.

As for stop- right click on flash window -> stop download

You suggested this to me about a month ago and I must say it's a superb script. It did everything I wanted it to do + more things I didn't even think of.
I recommend it 100%

Cool, thanks you two. I'll check it out.
I had come across it before (it was actually part of an addon that included in a pack of GreaseMonkey scripts), but skipped over it since I wanted something simple. But since there are two positive reviews (one being from FAST6191), I'll give it a go.

Edit: Well, I've tried it for a while now and I must say I'm absolutely loving it.
It is perfect in just about every aspect. I wish it didn't resize the player (as in the page loaded it wide), but it's a very minor complaint.
Thanks again you two.

I just wish GreaseMoney's icon behaved more like Stylish's Icon, where a click opens the menu with an option to disable rather than trying to click a tiny arrow to bring up the menu
