Are we going to have access to there entire gaming library or just games Sony wants us to play and do we pay per game or per month?

At the moment it's unknown, we really don't have a lot of information on this stuff yet, as it's probably not going to be available at launch. It'll probably require a pretty good internet connection.

Sony announced about a week ago that the "Best PS3 games" will be the first for the Gaikai service. So yeah, the best PS3 games that probably got the best reviews.

Why would your trophies carry over to the PS4 if you cant even play those games with trophies on the PS3? If we do keep our original PSN we should have some way to play PS3 games like Gaikai.

vita and ps3 already do this, you cant play vita games on ps3, but you can see your vita trophies. It would be nice if the streaming service would let you play the games you already bought for free. This probably wont happen as it costs money to stream and they would have to pay the entire time you stream. Most likely if they do this it will be psn plus only and maybe they will charge a streaming free per game, like maybe $5 to people that already own the game. Would be kinda like how nintendo charge $1 for people that already own a virtual console game on wii to play it on wii u.

"Best" by whose definition?
Well, currently PS+ Instant Gaming Collection is advertised on PSN with "Best games on the PS3 (ratings based on metacritic.com)". So if you take that into account, I'd imagine the better games with higher metascores will be the first ones up.

So are they planning on enabling remote play of any PS3 game on the PS4 through a PS3 firmware update (as long as you have a PS3) or will you have to use their streaming service ?

Well we keep our original PSN and PS3 trophies on Vita and you don't see many of us playing PS3 games on our Vitas. :P

That's because few if any PS3 games support remote play. Hopefully Sony will change that in a firmware update so that all games can be played remotely on a Vita or PS4 regardless of what their param.sfo says.

I don't think the OP gets the "point" of such an account system.

If you were to have a different ID on each system (kinda like a Friend Code), each one would have a separate trophy list, friends list, downloads list, transaction history etc.

A unified system like this allows you to, say, play a PS4 game, then get off your sofa and to a coffee shop where you'll be able to receive mail from all your friends to your PSVita while playing PSVita games, then hop in to a bus to visit granny and play a bit on your good 'ol PS3, all on one account.

Hell, the infrastructure even allows Cross-Buy - some titles can be played on more than just one system, so you can, say, play your favourite Metal Gear Solid 3 at gran's, then transfer the save to your PSVita, play it on the bus back home and then return to your PS4 game.

While doing all this, you're constantly available to your friends, you can continue receiving mail, play online, do shopping, add funds or do whatever you want, all on one account, regardless of the system used.

Arguing that it makes no sense to have one unified account is like arguing that you should have separate bank accounts for notes and coins. All of Sony's current systems are within one ecosystem and they interact with each other using the PSN infrastructure for your convenience.

Your purchases don't go "poof", they're saved on the account. Sure, you can't play PS3 games on the PS4, but neither can you play PSVita games on it and you can't really blame it for it - they're entirely different systems. Ever tried putting petrol in a diesel engine? Not gonna work, even though "it's from the same petrol station you buy oil from".
