I got a Wii U for Christmas and I just wanted to check something, I've tried playing a couple games and using the gamepad for audio instead of the TV to test it. Seems that both with speakers and headphones the audio will skip sometimes when the TV audio does not, usually at the beginning of a stage or a cutscene. (Tried with Hyrule Warriors and New Super Mario Bros U)

Is this just a thing that happens or should I assume the audio in my gamepad is faulty?

Huh, that's exactly what it was. Wonder why Surround was the default when it makes the audio skip, thanks. :)

I suppose it was a change made in recent software updates, since my settings defaulted to Stereo when I bought my Wii U over a year ago. I don't know why they changed, it though. :/

Glad that you got it sorted out. Enjoy your Wii U! :)
