The seller probably found the phone or stole it. I found a reddit post with a software called "iAmADirtyPhoneThief" that you can research about. Apple hardware has really tight security as they make their hardware in-house and don't have to follow standards like android devices. I have limited experience with iPhone jailbreaking but if the software on the iPhone is old enough, there may be some luck in breaking into it.

Edit: The said software is only for Macs apparently

I bought this iPhone used and it’s activation locked. Anyway to bypass it? I contacted the seller, but am getting no reply.

He or she knew it was locked and didn't mention it. Too big of a detail to forget.

Can jailbreak be installed on an Activation/iCloud locked iPhone?

Anyone who says this is impossible is wrong. The only way to do it though is to find someone who offers the service of removing the lock on the backend server. Hard to find a reputable seller, but definitely possible. If you bought this on eBay though, START A RETURN WHILE YOU CAN. If the seller doesn't respond, start a case and eBay will automatically side with you and force a refund. If it's been longer than 30 days since the package arrived, contact PayPal instead.

I don't trust any of those unlock services, that's why I recommend Android

Who remembers the gadgetwide scam?

You might as well just get an Android, they'll just say they can't help you, but you can buy a new iPhone instead
I don't get why that would be. All you should need is the IMEI number for the phone, and an Apple ID.

You have prove it's your phone, if it isn't they'll want a valid proof of purchase, but what do they consider a valid purchase....they rather you spend more money to get a slightly newer phone, they'll constantly be like, "the phone is outdated" and "buy our latest stuff and not have any bugs or issues" or "pay us an arm and leg to repair it" and "we don't support self repair, but we do support planned obselecence" your phone will always magically start malfunctioning shortly after the warranty has ran out

PayPal covers online purchases to up to 6 months, if I recall correctly. But, in normal situations no one should wait that long if the product is faulty.

Right & as you've got no evidence that the person it was bought from was legitimate, then your proof of purchase from them would be invalid.

Otherwise you could steal an iphone, set up two ebay accounts, sell it to yourself and then ask apple to unlock it.

I was finally able to return the phone. iPhone security is pretty solid.

Nah it's just that the apple hacking scene has a bunch of ppl who hack phones, to run unauthorized code, but get pissy over bypassing iCloud, they never released it apparently Because people will steal your iPhone then bypass, wtf kinda sense that makes when you're hacking the phone idk, to the point where they had an iCloud bypass, released it in a password protected rar to troll people (ih8sn0w)

Apple sucks, and its hacking scene is worse than it's tech support, worse than the 360 homebrew scene

I used to drink alcohol fairly often. Never to the point of it being a problem, but like 2-3 beers with dinner each night, or a few cocktails or glasses of Scotch or something. Started smoking/vaping weed a lot a few years back which killed 90% of my interest in booze. Now I stopped smoking/vaping weed as much and just deal with life the boring way most of the time

I only drank alcohol once and it was by accident

I didnt know it was beer, it was on a juice bottle

Yeah, I'm addicted to smoking, sadly. It's very addictive but I wish I didn't start.

May just order a 5700g for a nas/emulation set up tbh

@SylverReZ, you played that Mario flash game called Mario 63?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No, but I've seen it on Vinesauce's stream.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, that game is one of the reasons i met newgrounds bc the full versión of it is in that site
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Also somebody is remaking it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, the other game where I found newgrounds is new york shark

Spoke to Tom Fulp the other day, if he can find his old Newgrounds site content like the mini Flash animations from the 2000's that played on the portal.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
So far no response, but he did say that he'll find them. Wayback Machine doesn't have em.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, atleast the 1999 versión of pico's school is avaliable (the difference between it, the 2006 versión and the 2016 versión is that the speed of the game depends of the speed of your computer and that it had the og soundtrack)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Another being Pico VS Bear, the original 1999 version before Jim Henson filed a DMCA takedown.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
The 2006 versión was made when the flash portal was made
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Many people thought it was lost, but was discovered that he hid it on the same page.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, although the "secrets" system where the game was has been removed. Also pico vs uberkids had a netplay versión that was shutdown, although the swf file has been found
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Nope. There are two download buttons on the same page, where you can download the original under a file called "bear.exe". "bear2.exe", however, is the updated game in a Flash projector. P.s. this was on the archived Pico page from 2000.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's been there for a long time, too. People who search for lost media don't look hard enough lmao.

@SylverReZ, also the pico 2 demos used to be only for the newgrounds patrons but they are on internet archive too (https://archive.org/download/picos_school_2)

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Iirc the demos were removed from newgrounds in 2022
