C# and its possibilities

How good is C# in terms of what you can do with it. In other words, what kind of programs can be made with it?
And can it be used to make DS homebrew games or will I need C language knowledge?

Edit: I am learning from head first C# book and have understood the basics (not fully though but will continue)
AND i see a lot of articles for C# (2x than next highest)... why is tht so? Isnt C++ used by big companies to make big softwares/games

You need C and ASM for writting any homebrew code.

How good is C#? That depends on what you want to use it for.

- Random names/passwords generator
- Twitter client (useful) hence also facebook
- Web Authoring Tool (amazing... html and C#)
- Games as the book finally guides you to make space invaders; cool! also can make adventure/rpg games

You can use C# only on platforms where .NET frameworks is available (like Java)
So No ds homebrew is possible.
