Better in what way?

The UI for blender can be hard to get the hang of but once you get it then it is pretty good.

http://www.sketchup.com/ is worth looking at if you never have.

On the other hand if you are doing 3d for any kind of engineering purposes then most 3d modelling software is not good. There are then plenty of free CAD programs out there, many are slightly crippled or dumbed down versions of paid software (if you are not autodesk, PTC or Dassault then you struggle to make a dent, give or take siemens which is the "if sir has to ask" priced stuff).
Said companies will have free things, though some are more 2d focused (CAD started from engineering drawing which is a 2d affair what with the being on paper).
Still
http://www.123dapp.com/design
http://www.ptc.com/cad/elements-direct/modeling/express

Autodesk used to do a tool called autodesk inventor fusion which I really liked but they stopped having downloads in favour seemingly of that 123d thing above.

Actually free/open source
http://www.freecadweb.org/
http://www.openscad.org/ (powerful but a scripting/programming tool)
If I am mentioning free I should also mention http://brlcad.org/ , I have not checked it out in a while but it had an odd way of working when i did. Some really like its way of doing things though.
If you only want to model houses then http://sweethome3d.com/ is fantastic.
One of the top free ones but 2d focused so you may not care for it for what you want http://librecad.org/cms/home.html and dassault do a free 2d program as well which is great http://www.3ds.com/products-services/draftsight-cad-software/free-download/

You might like http://www.wings3d.com/ but I never got on well with it.

There's nothing better than Blender. The UI had a rewamp since 2.5 and is usage follows a unique schema you just have to learn once, unlike 3DS Max which mixes multiple slow UI techniques with different usage principles all over because it just has grown over more than a decade and never got a rewamp.

Blender really isn't harder than other 3D software, more the opposite. There are still a lot of people just comparing Blender to other software with its pre-2.5 release which had the same issue as 3DS Max - it also had grown over time and wasn't optimized for todays use. So if you search docs about Blender, make sure it's for version 2.5+ and you're good to go.

if you search something *beginner friendly *, you probably wanna take sketchup, but last time i saw it it was really limited in features. anyway for blender, search the 'noob to pro' tutorials or click the documentation link on the splash screen and follow the sections one by one.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

So the man throws her into the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."
