Can we get a steam deck section?

Emulation scene on this thing is gonna be big, it's already showing promise. Maybe I'm wrong and didn't look correctly but I looked all over this website for a steam deck section and couldn't find one.

Because the Steam Deck uses a special hardware configuration on top of running Linux, so there's a lot of discussion to be had on fixes, hacks, workarounds, and so on to get games working nicely on it. IMO a Steam Deck section would be great just because it would prevent the only threads in the PC section being exclusively about Steam OS' branch of Arch Linux and KDE bullshit.

The OS and hardware are definitely different enough to warrant a section imo

Fair enough, but I'd focus on the OS.
The hardware doesn't look that unique to warrant a new section.
A new section could work for all "portable PCs" then.

Actually, a portable PCs section (these are on the rise too) would be kickass, with a SteamOS subsection. That's a great idea.

We already have a group for it, so I see no reason for a section at this time. The fact that the group itself sees little activity itself just shows we don't need an entire new section just yet.

Like most new section suggestions, we don't usually bother considering adding an entire section for something until that subject starts overrunning other sections. Given our current PC section isn't currently being overrun by Steam Deck or even portable PC threads in general, and a group already exists, I see no reason to add one for now. In the future, maybe, but for now just use the group.
