Find someone with 2.3.0/3.0.0/1/2 and check if it will be asking for upgrade

Theory: Cart front codes:

Cart front code: LA-H-BAAYA-EUR
L = Cartridge
A = Normal Distribution Version ( Z would mean Demo or other Use)
H = Switch Codename "Horizon"
BAAYA = GameCode
EUR = Distribution-Region

That's a derivation from the Codes used for 3DS-Games

Theory: Cart back codes: Looks like identical to the 3DS Cards.

Back of Card Serial
AREPY10111 (example)

AAAABCDEEE (presumably)
A - Identifier (last 4 digits of product code)
B - Production Month (X,Y,Z -> Oct,Nov,Dec)
C - Production Year (2010 + C)
D - Revision
E - Production Run? (000-999)

Does anyone know if carts with game updates are region specific? I want a copy of botw with version 1.3.1 on the cart. I found several revision carts yet all of them only contain the original launch version but with newer firmware. I purchased a revised copy today directly out of a fresh delivery yet it still only contained 1.0.0. It also seems that Nintendo is still shipping non-revised copies of Mario so that is strange.

Well i got the rev 001, and this one need the 3.01 FW, so i guess the rev 002 unfortunatly need a higher FW...

Could you make a photo of the backside of the cartridge?
We did not yet see a 002 of BotW so I don't know which firmware it needs. It's very likely that it requires a version beyond 3.0.1

There you go. Thinking that it could have to update the game to version 4.x (or >3.0.1) really makes me want to hold off updating, even if I really wanna play the game.

EDIT: As reference I bought this game and the console (PAL version) through an online store in U.A.E. (souq).

Hmm, don't know if I can exchange it through the online store I bought it from. And I doubt I can exchange it at another store with the plastic seal removed. Hopefully with the release of HBL and/or emunand I can play this game. Hoping here I don´t have to wait much.

I had a 001... one of the first and i know that feeling.
I used a second, used cartridge and checked the revision before buying... BotW is worth it ;D
