hi, say if we were to install atmosphere & home-brew along with checkpoint, are there a list of precautions (to maximize safety) one can take, before playing Pokemon & fortnite (both purchased games) online?

You install homebrew you're going to get banned sooner or later, there's no way around it.

Do a NAND backup before anything, stay offline and once you want to go online, restore it. That's as safe as it can get.
