Yo,

A little while ago I heard about the NVidia Shield in China getting a couple Ninty game ports, one of them being Twilight Princess. My question is, has anyone successfully gotten the .apk and/or ran it on a device other than a shield? Personally I'm not sure if the Tegra X1 chip makes any difference on whether or not you can run it, honestly I'm just curious. :)

The APKs have been dumped and analyzed. The games are in fact emulated, and revision wise extremely close to their console releases.

This is speculation on my part, but I'd guess the emulator takes advantage of the mature OpenGL provided by Nvidia's driver, as opposed to the buggy OpenGL ES implementations by most Android manufacturers. Even if it only relied on OpenGL ES, I have my doubts about running performantly or graphically correct on other devices.

Ok cool, I have another question then

How hard is it to come across these dumps? I know you can't link me to anything, but I've been having a bit of trouble finding them on my own.

I haven't spent serious time looking for them, but I haven't stumbled across them either. I don't have them myself.
From what I can tell, the go-to method is to access the official Play Store while spoofing your device as a Shield. Haven't cared enough to try it though.

Maybe it would be more stable, but also likely only tailored to the Shield.

Dolphin may be less stable but has probably more options for a wider range of devices

I have been searchin and havent found anything yet. I have a shield TV 2017, set up with retroarch, reicast, dolphin and more, but I still definitely want to be able to play galaxy full speed without motion controls.

To me that seems to imply you buy from device (since the buy button takes you to a store to buy a Shield not the game)... Anyone have a VPN that pretends to be in China proper, not HK ???

I can try and spoof one of my android devices and use my VPN later today.

Slightly off topic: I obtained skyward for wii, got it showing/loading up fine in latest dolphin nightly on shield tv, to the M+ screen, is there a way to bypass that and map to the nvidia controller or do I need my wiiremote+, sensorbar and nunchuck?

I have only ever used dolphin for GC up to this point :/

You will need to set the controller in the settings but for games that only support motion control... I don't think they are playable quite yet on android. I know the android version of dolphin has Emulated Wiimote support but it only supports the base Wiimote without motion controls, IR or attachments

Here is dolphin running on my Fire TV 4k:

Not yet.

Used to be a mod & news writer in the PS3 scene back in the day.
