Yep, this is "common". The Switch needs an specific amount of power (Something like 40 Watts i think) to display on dock mode. Edit: It doesnt need the power per se, it needs a high voltage like 15V.

Do you know how much power can the Samsung adapter deliver?

Most likely it is 5V so it doesnt even matter if the samsung charger can output 4+A or whatever... Switch will be locked at low charging currents (probably at 1.5A) only at 5V and its not enough to power the dock...

It needs a 15V USB-C charger with around 2.6A
