Fantastic to know this! Very grateful for your nice work man :)
Anyway, of course, we will try not to tap "Update Now", but knowing this now, there is more peace of mind.

I am currently blocking:

sun.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net
beach.hac.lp1.eshop.nintendo.net
atumn.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net

I think I'll also block atum.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net like you.
Interesting what you comment about the analytics, maybe I also end up blocking it.

Yeah, I can also still access the eShop and download from there without problems.

Yeah, I am able also still to play Splatoon 2 online without problems, and Oh true, It will be a shame when version checking and enforcing system update to be able to continue playing online occurs since I don't want to stop playing online, so if necessary, I will sadly be forced to update the console if there is no any solution to avoid it.

Thank you very much mate for all your interest and help :)
this way works flawlessly. but i don't understand about blocking google sites.

I'm really confused about all these URLs now. Which ones should I block if I want to play online, not get sysupdate nags and not send analytics? (Retaining News and eShop would be great too, but the first three are the most important.)

If you open on your browser the DNS listed here: https://reswitched.tech/info/faq

173.255.238.217

this appears....

URL blocking does not work for me anymore. I had blocked these URLs on my router:

sun.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net
beach.hac.lp1.eshop.nintendo.net
dauth-lp1.ndas.srv.nintendo.net
atum.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net
atumn.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net
aqua.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net

Yesterday, I accidentally pressed "Update" and guess what... Now on 5.0.0 :wtf:

My nintendo switch to version 4.1.0 with those 5 URLs, it no longer blocks console updates and I can no longer update my games ... has anyone solved? are there any new URLs?

Anyone with the ASUS AC68U router get any of this to work?

You can't. This router has the same firmware as mine: RT-AC88U by default.. You could always flash Tomato onto it if you want.. By default, it only allows you to block "keywords" in the URL (or part of a URL). So for example to block sun.hac.lp1 you'd have to enter "sun" or "hac" or "d4c", etc..

It's really bad! It doesn't allow you to block an entire URL and if you enter the entire URL, it will NOT block at all!! If you entered: "sun.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net" and ping it, you will see that it still gets a response. If you blocked "sun.hac" and ping the same URL, you'd still get a response until you block one of: "sun", "hac", "lp1", or "d4c".

That being said, you can use a proxy to block or block via DNS server. If you rely on blocking the URLs above via your router, it will be a 100% death sentence! Ping the URLs first on a laptop to make sure your router is blocking correctly before you enable wifi on your switch (test on a computer first)..

Most likely your router is like Memoir's and doesn't block URLs but instead blocks keywords in a url..

URL blocking is still working. I just checked.

In what sense did you check? Can you still update the games without updating the system? I have zelda version 1.4 and I would like to upgrade to version 1.5, but it asks me to update the system otherwise it does not work.

I have been testing internet connectivity with my 4.1.0 Switch, I've been able to play a couple of Street Fighter online matches.
The 5.0.0 update was downloaded the moment I entered the eShop (I just erase it entering recovery mode).

I'm not sure, but maybe as long as you don't enter the eShop, the update shouldn't be downloaded.

and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
