Supposedly an outside intruder managed to get in, so Sony took down the whole network to fix security flaws.

From what I can tell (now understand this is my opinion based on some of the facts I gleaned) Sony is updating their and fixing the security vulnerabilities they have in PSN which can eff it up. The link says external intrusion. I just can't make myself believe it.
