I miss DOS games, they were so much less hassle than todays games. I miss the days were you were given 10 levels of a shareware game on a cover disk and if you liked it you bought the rest of the game...or just pirated it.

*Gasp* Demo discs were awesome. Omg we totally had one fight game, it started out with these cute little animals who morphed into giant robots and beat the shit out of each other. "Leave no toad unturned, until you have captured their monstorous leader!". I think the quote's from that game, omg what on earth was it called...

Edit: Battle Beast. Awesome

(and probably not quite DOS-y enough for what you're looking for but I'm happy)

How could any of you leave out X-COM (aka UFO: Enemy Unknown)?

Master of Magic was great too.

You beat me to it.. X-COM is THE game!

(also, the gobliiins series are amusing, and... I know there are some more.. but to name them.. that's hard

Doom (has anyone else said this yet?), Blood, Duke Nukem 3D, HHGTTG, Flashback, Dr Brain, and here's a real classic... Astrotit! Look it up if you don't know what it is.

))
Push-Over (Ocean) (Damned those ants got me hooked)
Double dragon
Push-Over was great despite it kinda being a advert for Quavers.

Other great advert games include: Zool (Chupa Chubs), Mic 'n' Mac Global Gladiators (McDonalds), McDonald's Land (Der), Superfrog (Lucozade) and Robocod (Penguin Biscuits). All plattformers and all Amiga/PC greats.
