If you want cheats in rom hacks so badly learn to edit the savefiles. Or use an emulator in PC at your own risk but backup the saves and do save states first.

That's because rom hacks change the way a videogame works so the cheats can totally wreck the game in some cases.

v25.9.6 (hotfix)

What's new?

  • To fully restore the look of the DSi Menu, the default fallback skin for the DSi theme is now the light skin instead of the dark one.
    • This was done because of some users apparently having bad first impressions with TWLMenu++ on DSi, and in addition, would end up making forwarders for the original DSi Menu (along with optionally installing hiyaCFW, a DSi CFW which is not needed nowadays).
    • You can still download the dark skin here: https://skins.ds-homebrew.com/nintendo-dsi/default-dark
      • In the `dark.7z` file, put the `dark` folder in `sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/dsimenu/themes/`, then open TWLMenu++ Settings, select `Theme` (set to `Nintendo DSi`), press A, then select `dark`.

Improvement

  • @lifehackerhansol: Updated GMP-Z003 autoboot to flashcard-bootstrap v1.2.3, with an open-source DLDI.

Bug fix

  • Fixed the DS/DSi splash jingle not playing and either no or glitched sound playing in place.

It's possible, but is likely difficult to implement.

Just wondering.

The RAM viewer is a very nice addition.

@RocketRobz
Can you tell where additional themes go in the SD card?

One more thing: I am trying to run DSPack and NeoDS.

I created a ramdisk for both, however Twilight Menu will not allow me enable RAMDisk for DSPack even thought it was correctly created following the tutorial. Any ideas?

When the app started I get Guru Meditation Error, I am using the DSi version and sudokuhax exploit.

I just tried The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (Europe, Rev 1) with v25.9.6 (hotfix) version and I got a red screen. I had to go to the cheat menu and enable AP Bypass code in order to make the game work. Is it normal?

I thought that v25.9.5 update included the patch.

Thanks for your hard work, I really appreciate TW++.

It is not normal.
The update should've included the same code you enabled, so idk why it would red-screen.

Can the bottom screen be disabled somehow? Some games only use it for stats and other stuff that may not be needed. Also, where do you place user-made themes at on the SD card?

It cannot be disabled.

Open the skin's 7z file, and drag the folder to "sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/???menu/themes/".

Is it possible to write/burn to flash carts like the R4i Gold? They can be updated so this made me curious.

Though gm9i says that my R4i is over 3GB. I would guess this was put in place to stop us from dumping any content on the device it self.

Also:
'Updated DLDI submodule.'

More DS mode homebrew support?

No. That'd be something implemented into nds-bootstrap.
The included nds-bootstrap version does have a potential fix for certain DS mode homebrew.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
