Is the game that you burned a CD-Based game on A DVD? You might have burned games like "Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex", which is a CD-Based game to a DVD. Also test if the disc drive can run official retail PS2 games.Whenever I try to run ESR on FMCB it always says "Unknown Media In Drive". What do I do?
It's Persona 3 FES. I don't know if it's a CD based game.Is the game that you burned a CD-Based game on A DVD? You might have burned games like "Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex", which is a CD-Based game to a DVD. Also test if the disc drive can run official retail PS2 games.
It does not appear to be one. Also it could be that:It's Persona 3 FES. I don't know if it's a CD based game.
What makes an ISO a "bad one"? I'm curious. It does not appear to be one. Also it could be that:
There was an error while burning the disc
OR
The iso you downloaded was a bad one

Use the slowest burning speed you can. Back in the day i use to burn them at 4x but with today´s recorders i think you can´t try to burn them at 8 or 16 maximum. Those DVD´s are fine. Always use DVD-R with the ps2.For reference I'm using a Verbatim DVD-R for burning the ISO's. I also patched the ISO's before burning too.

Also check the freemcboot config ESR path. See if it´s correct.
Try to use the other versions of ESR and check the compatibility list to see if the game runs with ESR.I burned it at 8x which is the max for my disc
Persona 3 FES supposedly works well with ESR when I checked the compatibility list. I'll try other versions of ESR.Try to use the other versions of ESR and check the compatibility list to see if the game runs with ESR.
I don't really know. I don't use ESR (i have a modchip) but any half-decent dvd should be working. Maybe it's a hardware issue, maybe it's a software issue. I don't know, good luck tho.For reference I'm using a Verbatim DVD-R for burning the ISO's. I also patched the ISO's before burning too.
Yep ESR detected an actual PS2 disc properly. Can you verify it will run retail games?
Of course. I did before my FMCB came in the mail today.Ok, but without ESR, can you pop in a legit PS2 disc and it will actually play and get to the main menu?
can you record a video of the noise ???? Set your ps2 vertically. Also when try to put in a burnt disc it makes a loud noise? Could that be the problem?
