Gaming fall update question

i did the new fallout update to have the divx support.
my 360 is unmodded.
will i be able to flash it in order to play back ups after doing the update?

So time attack patch has nothing to do with the firmware to play backups?
I found in xbox-scene.com that info:

As always ... update at own risk on modified consoles (although initial reports indicate no new issues for now) and keep in mind Microsoft might have found a way to block/prevent the "Timing Attack" to downgrade your kernel. So if you want to keep the possibility to run linux and homebrew in the future we suggest you don't apply the fall update yet until hackers analyzed the new kernel and can tell us if the "Timing Attack" still works or not.

Timing attack has nothing to do with playing backups , it's just a way to downgrade your box to a earlier exploitable kernel. Which at the moment just lets you run linux , but people are hoping it may lead onto some homebrew stuff.

As for the firmwares. Xtreme = boot anything , stealth or no stealth. Ixtreme ,boot stealth only. Ixtreme is suppose to be for online use as it will only boot stealth backups , but you can still get done even with em.
