Join me for a bit of time travel. Over 30 years ago when SEGA still dabbled in home consoles with the Sega Master System, they released a Transformers inspired shmup (shoot'em up) called Transbot, also known as Astro Flash in Japan. It was the standard side-scrolling shoot'em up, complete with lives, scores, temporary ammo-based power-ups, fancy enemies, but had a badass transforming starship. Fast-forward back to to the future, in August 2015, a man by the name of Kristian Hawkinson sat down with the original game and made a short let's play. This inspired him to create a full Windows PC HD remake of Transbot in Unity and around May 2018 the complete remake was released to the world, free of charge.
So what has been changed? From what I understand, a lot. The graphics, the game manual, box art, music, levels, and an actual ending.

This is old news. It was released a year ago, but I don't recall ever seeing any news about it and I never knew about it myself until today. I thought I'd share it.
