It was in the parking lot so idk whos it is

why?
Because you were concerned about finding pornography on a random USB, who would be stupid enough to carry a device like that with them, most people also won't place viruses on their USB's, so both of your concerns are kind of silly.

too much paranoia in this thread.
if you don't want to get a virus, handle it like a person with two or more neurons and you will not get a virus.
if you are so paranoid, look at it in some linux mini-distro or something.
if you don't want to find child porn, throw it away. you know it may be less than 1/10000000 probability, but even so, nobody has a crystal ball for you.
ugh. do whatever.

It could have information on how to bring down the US government on it and you wouldn't get in trouble for plugging it into your computer.
I mean assuming you don't try to sell it to ISIS.

It probably has absolutely nothing on it. At least nothing of value. Just plug it in and format it.

I feel like this thread is either trolling or you must be 11 years old.

Format it to Ex FAT, or FAT 32, forget FAT 16, because that's useless.
Just plug it into a computer or mobile device to do that.

On a Mac you'll need to use Disc Utility and you can format it there.

it's a very low change but can happen..
when i was a kid i had saved pictures and private documents on a mp3 player, so my parents wo

but really @Natethekidrs00 just plug it on a public computer, or use linux\mac or even use a OTG cable on your android phone.. that, if you want to see what it contains (maybe it has sexy pictures of that sexy co-worker or crush? ;);)
maybe it has important stuff that the person would love to get back which you could try to give the stuff back to the person while keeping the cheap thumb drive for yourself as reward...

if you dont want to see what's inside you can also plug it to a console and format it..

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
