Homebrew (gateway) is it safe to update the roms through emunand?

probably a stupid question but im a gbatemp newbie ...anyway, a lot of my games have "there is a new software update available" when you go to play it, is it safe to update them or not (through emunand) or will i get banned? if the files are online patched does that make a difference? sorry to ask on here i just cant find an answer anywhere else :/

Yeah sure. eShop games in .3DS/.3DZ format will fail to update though, as they tend to update the game directly rather than releasing a separate update. Also you won't be able to update out of region games on the eShop, but you can find their updates in CIA format.

oh cool thank you! most of my roms are from my region anyway, but a few are from the usa i think, so how would i patch them so or whatever so theyre updated?

Look for the update CIA on ISO/chaos site and install it with FBI.
